Firefox browser when on Foxnews will crash and causes PC to completely reboot? This has been happening on multiple PC's in my house and has been happening for months.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

When I actually went in there to look for the crash reports it came back with 0/none after following the instructions. I went further into your troubleshooting tree with third party modules and there were many modules in there from AVG which is my current Internet Security/VPN/ antivirus program? I blocked these modules. I want to see how it goes from this point. AVG already affects blocking some sites especially financial ones with the VPN on. I turn VPN off. The problem I have been having is that it crashes the whole PC when I have been in Firefox and goes straight into rebooting with no crash report. The crashing problem has also happened when accessing Rumble and Truth Social as well usually in Firefox. I may be in the market for a new anti virus if this pans out. Thanks for your help!

Hi

If you turn off AVG and use Microsoft Defender, does that same issue still occur?

The same think happens when I try to turn off AVG and turn on Windows Defender, but I have a problem in that AVG looks like it has embedded itself into everything. I believe my PC is fine but that it is always rebooting being caused by some 3rd party program like AVG loaded on it. Multiple PC's in this house are doing uncommanded reboots. I can't believe that other people are not having this same issue primarily with Firefox and what can be construed to be right wing sites?
