Even though the preferences are setup with no notifications of new messages I still get them
I cannot seem to disable new mail notifications which appear on my screen and make a sound. How do I fix this...preferences are set OK so have to try something else.

Most if not all Mac users with his complaint find that it is coming from some Mac process and not Thunderbird. If it is off in Thunderbird it is off.
