If your DVR is on the same network as your Mac, there probably is an address for it. Do you have any documentation from your DVR maker?

Or is the problem that you get an error accessing it? Please give the specific error if you get one.

The company is K guard security.

The model of the dvd is ns-1601

When i go to my public ip on internet explorer (with active x controls) it allows me to view it just fine. When i do it on firefox it stays on a bus screen.* Bulleted list item

Hmm, I notice their specifications say "Network Function: IE and Safari Browser Supported". http://www.kguardsecurity.com/us/p/ns1601/

There might be some tricks to get it working in Firefox, but I'm not sure how best to learn them. Maybe other users have posted about your device? I didn't see anything promising in a quick web search, but it's probably worth digging around a bit more.

If you don't want to use Safari, does their KView software work for you? http://www.kguardsecurity.com/us/p/kview-for-mac/

There desktop software doesn't have the ability to access audio.

The only browser they support is IE, but there tech team told me there are ways to get it working with firefox.
