check boxes not working on many sites

I am finding more and more that i have to go to Chrome to fill out forms. When there are check boxes on a website like the League of Women Voters to renew membership i find i can not click the box when using firefox. has something changed across the web or is there a privacy setting i can disable temporarily or ... something else? i really try to avoid Chrome but it seems that is the one browser that works consistently. And now i try to click the box at the bottom of this page to get email answers and it doesn't work. wow.,
