TB 145 - Cannot add Godaddy Exchange Account with personal domain
I have spent 3 hours trying to figure this out. Nothing works for me.
Authentication always fails yet when I log into Outlook it always works.
I turned off using the new hub and was able to setup my email account but it told me OWL was not active (or something about OWL).
Godaddy is my provider.
What am I not doing correctly?

Dear Paul,

FYI, I'm the maintainer and owner of Owl. I got involved, because your (Paul's) initial message sounded (to me and to others) like you had a problem with Owl.
Toby Pilling now also joined this thread. He's senior manager of Thunderbird desktop development, and competent - and kind as well.

I'm glad to hear that.
We worked hard and for years long to make Owl usable, and we regularly work on Owl, to adapt it to Office365 and Thunderbird.
Regarding the price: Owl costs less than 85 cents/month (cents), so that's hardly "unreasonable". However, I respect when you choose not to use Owl, for whatever reason.
Kind greetings,

I had this very same problem. I had this account in Thunderbird previously. An update disabled OWL and spent a few hours trying to figure this out. A bad experience. I have been a Thunderbird user for decades. Anyhow, I disabled the Account Hub (showed as experimental), removed the failed account, and reconnected. This time it allowed me to pick EWS and it imported the account correctly. Thank God for this thread though too bad that I spend a few hours trying to get it before turning to the Support Forum.

Hey Luigi, if you have problems with Owl, you can contact our support at owl.support (at) beonex.com . Are you using Thunderbird 151 Beta? If so, we have an update for 151 that you can download at http://www.beonex.com/owl/owl.xpi and install in Thunderbird.
