I have duplicate mirrored accounts and i need to delete one but don't know if i will lose information.

I have duplicate accounts in Thunderbird and I need to delete one so I can make some changes to my server settings, but I get the error msg "An account with this name already exists. Please enter a different account name" . They are both the same email account. How can I delete one without loses data i.e. saved emails and contacts?

What's the account type of both of the accounts - POP or IMAP?
