OS Vista Ultimate 32bit All drivers are up to date the same with SP

Okay my problem:-

I stream online TV shows, so I open up FF start the load of the TV show, then pause it so as to allow it to buffer right through.

I then minimize FF and do other things on my PC, then out of nowhere I get a box in my taskbar FF has crashed restart it.

It is driving me batty, as it means I have to reload the TV shows, and wait for them to buffer again

No I just copied and pasted them as you said to FF has never really given me any problems other than flashplayer crashes, but I was using V17 for ages. It has only since I have done the upgrade that it keeps crashing randomly and FREQUENTLY.

I have also done a sfc /scannow no integrity violations, as for why the archived report could not be found I have no idea.

I have a different question still do with FF29. I have Macrium Reflect Pro that images my C:\ .

To try and get around the constant crashes of the new FF, I did a system recovery, everything went back to the date of the backup EXCEPT FF, that unfortunately remained as V29 :/

more options

Go to Mozilla.org, and download the FULL installer.

I don't know Macrium.

I did, that's how I got V29

Okay it happened again, I had my TV shows buffering, I then went to bed, got up this morning, was in the middle of checking my email, when the FF page went black. I opened up a new FF session it opened black.

Seriously this version is as buggy as hell.

Firefox v30 just came out. You can try to update, keep trying to fix this, or try to install the version that worked before. Most Sumo's will say using old software is a bad idea.

See if you have any crash reports dated the last 60 days. If there are please post them.

Hello,

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the <Alt> or <F10> key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart

I tried rolling back to V17, couldn't get everything back to how it was. I have updated to V30 this evening. Hopefully it will be better.

As for the hardware acceleration I always leave it unticked/unchecked.

I am heading off to the Gold Coast Queensland for a week. So my desktop will get a well deserved break, and my Laptop will get a workout lol
