New computer running Win 7. Install FF no problem. But then the icon disappears from the Start Menu and from the Taskbar.

When I go to the program location C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox there is only the generic icon for firefox.exe.

Program seems to work fine, but this is annoying. Thanks for the help.

I take it you mean the Firefox shortcut remains on the taskbar and Start Menu, and it's just the icon that looks like a generic Windows icon. If so, clear your icon cache:

Thanks so much for the helpful reply. Interestingly, when I tried to rebuild the IconCache db manually, I was unsuccessful. However, when I ran the batch file, worked like a charm.

Much appreciated!
