trying to download firefox to a mac g5 running 10.5.8. I get a closed symbol over the icon and it won't let me drag it to to the applications

downloaded firefox 9.0.1.dmg. Got the option to drag the firefox icon to the applications folder, but it refused. The firefox logo/icon had a closed symbol over it. I'd like to use firefox> Please help. Thanks

Firefox 3.6.x is the last available from Mozilla for PPC Macs.

For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4+ versions, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 .
