Check and tell if its working.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

• You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
• To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
• Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

Guys, thank for those replies but I had already read all the threads with those very responses (posted by you in some cases) before I posted my question.

Sorry, I should have clarified in my original post that I had already explored FF help & the boards before posting.

You can manually use Session Restore by Starting Firefox and type about:sessionrestore in the address bar. See this:

thanks. will try it next time. perhaps obviously, right now it provides no previous windows or tabs but it's good to know.
