At startup I am repeatedly asked for the master password. When I give it the mask does not take it and presents the same question. It takes several minutes until the password is accepted and Firework opens.

There are some bug reports about being asked for multiple master passwords. Until they are fixed, are workaround is to use one of these add-ons:

This seems to be related to what tabs/windows Firefox is trying to open when I launch it. If I have multiple tabs that each require a login, then Firefox asks me for the master password multiple times.
Not in my case. It was not related to the number of tabs opened when I used it last time. The installation of the add-on TonyE suggested resolved the problem immediately.
