Unable to download extensions on Steam Deck desktop mode

Using Firefox browser 126.0.1 via Steam Deck desktop running SteamOS 3.6.22; I am unable to download any extensions. I tried to download uBlock Origin and ProtonVPN through addons.mozilla.org, but recieved an error message:

"Installation aborted because the add-onn appears to be corrupt."

I then checked other extensions I found on the front page recommendations, like "Dark Reader" and "Image Search Options" and they gave me the same error.

Could not find anything that helped my situation upon searching for solutions, any help would be appreciated.

Your old Firefox version is the issue due to not meeting the minimum requirements you need since March 14 as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/root-certificate-expiration

You need at least Firefox 128.0 or later such as the current Firefox 128.8.0esr or the current Firefox 136.0.1 Release to not have your Extensions be disabled and to be able to install new Extensions in Firefox. There is the Firefox 115 ESR where you need 115.13.0esr at minimum when 115.21.0esr is the current though if you use that you may likely be updated to the then current Firefox 128 ESR (say 128.8.0esr) anyways.
