Thunderbird 78 PGP key management - no key available

I migrated my enigmail settings and keys into Thunderbird 78 and I can decrypt messages. However when I try to send an encrypted message to an alternative ID of the key owner, I get message indicating that I don't have keys for the recipient. But if I open the key manager I see the keys for him and both his identities (2 diff emails). And I was able to decrypt the message from that identity. How do I correct this issue?
