deleting a message advances to the next message, but instantly de-selects it. It should remain selected.

also, when I select a message in the message list, it is briefly selected, then de-selected. i.e. goes from highlighted to de-selected.

This behavior doesn't always happen on start up, but seems to start happening after a while.
