When I open Thunderbird, I have to always scroll up to reach the top of my starred messages...

Hi,

I currently have my mail box set up so that the starred messages (those that are important for me) are at the top, with the newest of those at the very top. After the starred messages, come the non-starred messages, again, with the newest at the top.

The small problem with this is that whenever I open Thunderbird or even open a new tab then return to my mailbox, the newest non-starred email is highlighted, (so I have to then scroll back to the starred emails) whereas I would prefer to either have the email I most recently opened highlighted or the newest starred email.

Sorry if the above isn't particularly clear, it's quite hard to explain!

Have you considered actually putting your starred massages in their own folder? I could not imagine trying to work with 100,000 email in a single folder. although I do have one with 65,000 sorted by date. oops, i do have one with more than 100,00. Good thing I don't look at that one much.
