When moving a message to a folder from the Inbox, how to remove the message from the inbox?
I am using thunderbird 52.8.0 on Ubuntu. After I have created some folders (NOT local folders) I click on a message in the Inbox to move it to the folder. Then I open the folder to confirm the message is in the correct folder; that is the case.
However, the message still remains in the Inbox (marked as deteled: It has a 'red cross' in front of it and the subject is stroken through). How to change the settings so that messages that I have moved OUT of the Inbox is not listed in the Inbox anymore?
I also restarted Thunderbird, without change.

Moving a message is very likely implemented as a copy followed by a delete.
Go to Tools|Account Settings|{select account}|Server Settings and look at the settings for "When I delete a message:".
