Go to about:config in your address bar, click the warning to proceed and search for extensions.pocket.enabled and double click it to set it to false. Pocket functionality will immediately be removed.

It's not dangerous, it's only dangerous for the average user to go poking around in. You know exactly what pref to change. You say you want to disable Pocket completely, this is the way.
