Thunderbird will not display messages after upgrade to windows ten

I just updated to windows 10 through the updater. Thunderbird appeared to make the cut but when i logged in the message pane was blank. When I clicked on the get messages nothing happened and the get all messages was grayed out. My accounts were there and when i clicked on a specific account i could see the program getting messages but they never appeared in the viewing pane. thanks in advance Ted Wasserman
