Import Eudora .mbx and .toc data with add-on?

I’m trying to import Eudora 7.1 mail with the Import/Export Tools add-on. Can the add-on use the .toc files to preserve the read/unread status and related status information?

Some imported .mbx files had blank emails; the headers looked ok. Will checking “HTML format as displayed in messages panel” in the options fix the problem?

This is TB 38 from the Linux Mint repository (not sure why they have not yet updated to TB 45).

Merge mail TB 1.5 > TB 38

I imported a large Eudora Mail directory to Thunderbird version 1.5.0.9 with Eudora Rescue. The old TB version is on a Windows partition (opening in Wine), and a recent TB version 38 is installed in Mint. To merge mail: Will it work to export the mail directory from TB 1.5 to an archive on the linux partition, and then import the archive in TB 38?

I don't know if it requires formal "export" and/or "import" operations in TB or if it would suffice to copy the directory into the TB 38 directory and let TB adopt the data.

Copy is the caper for Thunderbird profiles.

Hopefully your Linux copy has nothing in it that is of use to you. In which case you can just replace the content of one DElauft directory with the contents of the other.

IF you want to try and merge two profiles, I will point you to the import export tools and say best of luck. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

Or you could use the Profile switched from the same author to simply keep your old mail in a separate profile and access it when you need to. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/profileswitcher/
