Why do emails that I send myself with a day of the week in the body disappear from my inbox immediately?

I was trying to send myself a reminder to follow up on something next Monday. After I sent it, I would click "get messages" and see the message flash in the inbox then disappear. It is nowhere to be found! I played with it a bit and the pattern is clearly the use of the word "Monday"...
