[Beta] Unified Folders Inbox does not show all Inbox mail, nor all new/unread Inbox mail

Using Thunderbird 112.0b7 on Windows 11, with three accounts (1 IMAP, 2 Google Mail) and Unified Folders enabled, the Unified Folders Inbox will only show a few new/unread mails, but not the older mail in the inboxes.

When I toggle the "Show only unread messages" quick filter on and off, the other mails appear, but the process is very slow and it insists on scrolling to the oldest mail (>10 years) instead of remaining with the newest or selected item.

When new mails arrive, they (and only them) mostly show up in the Unified Inbox, but it's unreliable. E.g. when I was changing some Firefox account settings earlier, the email notification for that only showed up in the account's Inbox, not the Unified Inbox, until I switched back and forth between the two.

Overall I quite like this latest Thunderbird beta and it's almost made me switch back to Thunderbird (from Mailbird [no relation] or Betterbird), but this bug(?) has made me miss messages and the general performance, while vastly improved vs the last time I used TB, is still sometimes severely lacking (and lagging).

I've searched everywhere and can't figure out how to change the default sort order for messages in my inbox and other folders. From Oldest to Newest is counterintuitive for me and I'm sure there is a place to change this...I just can't locate it. Thanks for any help.

I have Thunderbird 115.0b2 installed and using unified folders. When I delete a message from my inbox or even any of my local folders, the deleted message does not move to my Trash folder. Basically, the email is gone. I looked through all the various TB settings and cannot find any that would cause this action. I really want the deleted emails to go into the Trash folder in case I make an error deleting the wrong email one day. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you, Steve

In the new Thunderbird 112.0 Beta 3, I can't scroll through my Message Filters.

If I click on Tools, then Message Filters, then select the pull down (Filter for:) and select Local Folders, I get no scroll bar. Since the first filter is selected, I can scroll with the arrow keys, BUT, the list does not move at all.

It is list the window is the full size of the list. Shrinking the window down and maximizing it makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Recently I have upgraded from Thunderbird 102 to 112, and I noticed that the unread and total mail counts which appeared on the right side of the status bar has been disappeared. Exploring options and other menus didn't help. Didn't want to dive into config explorer, because I don't want to tweak settings there much.

Are these counts removed from latest versions, or are they turned off somewhere, so I can turn them on?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

H.

Please disregard below - I have joined the TB Beta group discussion and found this link regarding my issue, but I have yet to figure out how to make the like changes which user HS6666 was able to perform. I welcome anyone that can share this steps. https://thunderbird.topicbox.com/groups/beta/Tc91f881568f3af8e/large-empty-area-at-the-top

I may have been 2 patches down level. 3/16/2023 last night around 7pm (EST) Thunderbird Beta was acting very strange, I rebooted my PC but didn't start Thunderbird until this morning 3/17/2023. I quickly noticed the UI looked completed different - my custom menu (not sure correct name) was no longer present. See attachment where I did attempt to customize the Toolbar, also notice the search bar is at same bar, I don't recall ever have a prior "search" area, I would using use the (edit>find>search messages). I attempted to recreate them (Print, Mark, Get Message), but I don't recall each custom change I made prior. The new UI looks WAY different - I'm not pleased that I have to relearn everything, I read on "Changes" for 112.0b1 that some fixes for Various Unified Toolbar improvements and Various visual and UX improvements were "Fixed" but I without reading each note to figure out what I need to do to get the UI close to what it looked like before - I am posting this issue with hopes others can advise me and if they too have had this issue. Thanks in advance - Jim - How do I get them back as before?

Thunderbird 111.0b3 shows this behavior:

  1. I select a line in the email-list.
  2. I press key "1".
  3. Thunderbird tags this email as "Important" and colors the selected line in red (screenshot 1), which is fine.
  4. I select another email/line.
  5. The previously tagged line is not colored red anymore (which is an error, I think - some days ago Thunderbird colored all "important"-tagged lines in red).
  6. When I mark the previously tagged line, it's colored red again. So the tag information still exists. It's just not shown as long as the line is not selected.
