All of a sudden all of my Comcast accounts are receiving the message: "Alert from account XXXXXX: Temporarily blacklisted IP Address - Try again later". Contacted Comcast and elevated all the way up to the top technical group and was told it was a Thunderbird issue. Tried resetting passwords, etc to no avail.

I have Thunderbird 115.9.0 64 bit on the 2nd latest version of Ubuntu Linux and by second latest I mean it is still supported even though there is a new version available. Several months ago there was a password problem with my internet account preventing me from logging into my internet/email service and all my devices could not send or recieve emails. I changed my password on my cell, my Windows 10 computers and they worked fine. My Thunderbird on my Ubuntu on the other hand rejected my password and I also checked all of my port and server settings with the help of my internet service provider tech support including comparing settings from other email clients. Still no password being accepted. My internet/email service provider tech agent suggested removing my account from my client and reentering it and this worked.

Several months later I changed my main email passwords again on incoming mail and outgoing mail servers on my account, verified my port settings are correct, which they were including the type of security and protocols used. When I select the desktop icon I get prompted to enter my main password and hit enter and the window keeps reoccurring as if it has rejected my password. I select cancel allowing me to enter and again clear and reenter password and again it is rejected. I removed my account (I think) and go through the motions of reinstalling my account and get a pop-up indicating the server already exists which puzzles me. Ports, security settings, password are all correct and tested on other devices. I can even use a browser and log onto my internet service providers server and access my account and my password works but not on my Thunderbird. Should I consider uninstalling and then reinstalling my Thunderbird on my Ubuntu? I think by mistake I deleted all of my emails BUT I have selected IMAP so my emails I want are still on my service providers server. IF I uninstall and reinstall how do I save my contact list. This I Inoticed is still intact. Suggestions please?

After clicking the Thunderbird to enter my email the whole system goes through connecte3d to uepat624@gmail.com then up comes a message from Thunderbird indicating "you may have too many cached connections use IMAP Advanced Settings to reduce cached connections" Then things continue on for probably 5 to 10 mins. sending login info, looking up IMAP, checking mail server capabilities, looking for folders, sending login, opening folder box, downloading

Eventually email inbox and messages come up. I can send, receive and send mass mailings but when you read a message and want to go back to the inbox you have to scroll all the little boxes at the top of the screen back to the one that says "inbox".

I need someone to remove the cached connections. Pat Blackburn

All of our "read" emails, --from all of our accounts -- have suddenly disappeared. All of the folders and subfolders are still present. We still get new email, but as soon as we read it, it's gone. We have had these same email accounts for years and have not made any changes. In Account Settings --> Synchronization & Storage --> "don't delete any messages" is checked. "Read" messages are still on our server.

So, 1) Why did this happen? 2) Is there any way we can get our messages back in Thunderbird?

I replaced it with the exact settings from outlook but it still won't work. I have to use outlook directly to send messages. I get all emails in thunderbird (imap) My outlook settings which I duplicated exactly in thunderbird are; smtp-mail.outlook .com Starttls Normal password Thunderbird times out after 1 minute for a message with only a subject (1 word). I have 300 megs/second so it is not connecting. It worked fo 5 years but now it does not. Please help!

Hello,

I regularly move my emails to local folders. Today, after updating to version 115.6.1, hundreds of emails in one particular folder appear completely blank, without subject, correspondents, or content (see picture). The rest of them are fine.

How can I restore the content of those emails?

Or maybe it's just a bug and they're not "real" emails. How do I know for sure?

Cheers!

How do I "return" to 115.4.0 so I can have access to emails on my computer? I can receive emails on my cell phone. Thank you.

A few days ago emails with attachments (pdf, jpeg), and of various sizes, stopped sending (timed out). The problem appears to only exist when I send from my desktop, not using webmail. All had been working fine prior to a few days ago. Emails without attachments send fine. Incoming emails (with and without attachments are also fine). I have had several discussions with my internet service provider who claim there is no issue at their end. I have checked my account/server settings in Thunderbird and all seems correct there. I'm using the POP mail server, if that is relevant. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. Not being able to send emails with attachments if a major impediment.

When I try to add a link by using Ctrl + K, the email draft essentially crashes. If I click on the email that I was writing, it dings/chimes. The email that was in progress is gone. It cannot be changed, does (did) not save as a draft, and cannot be closed.

Other aspects of Thunderbird continue to work, and I can write a new email. However, to get rid of the email that was in progress, I need to shut down the app. Restarting the computer does not get rid of the problem.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Since upgrading to version 115.8.1 I get unable to write email to mailbox . I have three email addresses in my profile. All are POP. One (from yahoo) always hangs and the other two fail intermittently. OS is Windows 10 64-bit at 22H2 level It doesn't matter if Zonealarm is turned on or off. Lately, I noticed that TB is quite slow at loading messages so I looked up for a solution and found that compacting folders could help a bit. The problem is that when I tried to compact some folders TB started to write hundred of GBs to disk completely filling my ssd and ultimately failing with a 'not enough disk space error'.

I don't think this is supposed to happen. Can I fix my inbox or should I start from scratch?

The last auto upgrade included a calendar function, which I switched off as I thought this was causing the problem. But now after all the messages have downloaded, I get the usual pop-up box in the bottom right of the screen telling me I have received x messages but it only half fades in and the whole PC jams. CTR-ALT-DEL does not work and I can't switch to a different window or even click on anything in the Thunderbird screen. The only thing that I can do is hard reboot the PC and switch off the router, which allows me to start up Thunderbird without anything downloading. I am using Windows 7 and Avast as my AV. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I have updated to Thunderbird 38.1 running with XP Pro. Thunderbird fails/crashes every time I switch users. We have 3 account profiles and failures occur on all 3 profiles.

Crash reports cannot be sent to Mozilla as errors in transmission occur.

While Thunderbird is working it is good but the constant failures are frustrating.
