I had an issue with one of my domain emails hosted at ionos so I removed one of my domain accounts and reinstalled it I let is set up with default storage diorectory user/appdata and so on then went to sever settings and changed the local directory to the hard drive my other emails are stored on the only thing is I'm missing all the folders in the directory but my emails are still working. does any one know how I can fix this as I said I have already tried to remove the account and reinstall it and it still come up the same i have included an image of both accounts hosted at ionos not that that should make a differance where its hosted just that they should look the same in the directory!. thanks to any one who could shed some light on this. as you can see there are folders in one but theri missing the ones on the right. shame there is no little app from mozilla that can fix issues like this in thunderbird it would solve so many little issues that seem to pop up now and again.

Hi, I kept OS Snowleopard around for years too long in order to keep using Eudora. I finally got fed up with viruses/crashes, having to rebuild the mailboxes, but I was never able to find anything to take its place and have frankly been limping along ever since. I regularly need to find things going back months, years, and even decades. It used to be simple with Eudora. Recently, one of my parents passed away and I'm kind of the family scribe, so I really need to pull together all the past communications, from Eudora (going back to almost 1990), gmail, yahoo, my website, icloud, my college alumni address, my Ronin Institute address, my 15 Sonic addresses--and there's probably a few I'm forgetting offhand. I really need to consolidate them. I tried various email clients, including years ago a previous version of Thunderbird, but they were a lot of work to set up and couldn't handle all the email addresses.

I see better reviews of Thunderbird now. Can Thunderbird really handle all those email addresses? Since my Eudora mbox files are still on OS Snowleopard, and I'm running Macbook M1 with the latest OS now, what's the best way to incorporate the entire archive of messages and also start hopefully wrangling current messages (like I haven't been able to since I had to stop using Eudora)? Eudora pretty much only did POP well, and I actually did appreciate having my data on my own computer, but now there are some email accounts I'd prefer as IMAP and others as POP. Is it possible to mix them? Is it possible to download AND keeps messages available for viewing by phone? This situation has been a problem for me for years--I was just wondering if there might be any volunteers at Mozilla who might be willing to spend a few hours on the phone with me to help me bring my email into the 21st century? Nearly every day of my life I have to let someone down over something I can no longer do or find because I don't have Eudora. But the problem doesn't go away just because I find another program that does some of the things Eudora did--I really need some help integrating everything. Thanks so much for all you do!

Thunderbird 115.0 on Linux/Debian is unable to verify and install addons from website. It just freezes when I try - and cannot even manually install addons that I download using Chrome. I even totally deleted all files and folders and reinstalled Thunderbird 115.0 from stratch... what happened?!

I found that after total removal - if I install a earlier version... that I can verify and install addons, but not with version 115.

I also found that I cannot import profiles from zip or even uncompressed folder. I confirmed the profile is less that 2 gig (1.2 gig) - so size of the profile should not be a problem.

You must have the Thunderbird client installed on your computer to use the manual method of importing Thunderbird emails into Outlook. Because you cannot import a Thunderbird MBOX file into a Outlook PST file if you do not have any email clients.

These are some easy steps:

  • Launch Thunderbird on your PC.
  • Email addresses to be chosen:
  • Choose the emails you want to export. You can choose multiple emails by holding down the 'Ctrl' key while clicking on each one.
  • Select Save As from the context menu.
  • Right-click on the selected emails, choose "Save As," and save them to your computer.

However, because the manual method is difficult to use and has the risk of data loss. As a result, I suggest the professional tool. Try the ToolsCrunch Mac Thunderbird to PST Converter Tool to convert your data. This tool easily convert Thunderbird emails to Outlook without any data loss. It is works on all Windows OS and Mac versions. This tool converts vast amounts of data from Thunderbird files to PST files. You can try the free test versions and analyze this application.

There are some easy steps:

  • Install the MBOX to PST Converter Tool and run it.
  • Select MBOX file and then "browse"
  • Display an MBOX file mailbox preview
  • Click Browse and enter a location for the save files.
  • Select the Convert button.

After having tried to learn to love Supernova for several months, I cannot. In fact, I have come to loathe, despise and detest its user interface. Are there settings in Views that will give me the old look and feel? Is there a skin I can download. If I cannot I will leave TB after decades of use even if I have to go back to (shudder) Outlook.

I manage IT for a small org (10 users) where we currently use thunderbird with email services provided by a website hosting company. We'd like to move to either Google Workspace or Office 365 for email.

Considerations

[1] Our needs are simple, email and contacts. One user uses folders extensively. [2] I have some exposure to using google workspace with thunderbird, and I'd say that's pretty smooth. [3] I have no experience with Office 365. [4] No one wants to move to Outlook from Thunderbird [5] We subscribe to Office 365, so google workspace would be a new cost

In researching how o365 works with Thunderbird, my conclusion is that Microsoft is still quite capable of making it less than smooth. I'd very much appreciate input from those with exposure to o365, and even more anyone that can compare the two services from the Thunderbird perspective.

My Plusnet Mail account is fully operative out of Thunderbird in Windows 10, alongside my outlook.com mailer. I am attempting to duplicate this in a new Win 11 PC and finding it difficult to duplicate my Win 10 Server Settings, due to the ambiguities thown up in hoping to duplicate the Win 10 Tbird 'Server Settings' in the Win 11 'Set Up Your Existing Email Address' questions page.

Win 10 Tbird set-up page confirms my POP Mail Server as 'POP', 'relay.plus.net' and 'Port 110', the Outgiong Server as 'smtpmail.plus'.net' and Username as '"my-name@plus.com".

The Win 11 Tbird 'Server Settings' page (after my own inserted Mail address and Password) includes: 'Incoming Server' protocol as 'POP3' Host Name: (auto-selected) '.plus.com' Port: (empty) Username (empty) - I elected to insert email address "my-name@plus.com".

'Outgoing Server' Host is (again) 'plus.com' Port - empty - and finally (again) ' 'Username' (empty and complered as before with) "my-name@plus.com"

Note: Despite the (fixed) message "Thunderbird will attaempt to auto-select blank fields", the final result advises: "Thunderbird failed to find the settings foryour email account".

Am I making wrong assumptions as to what should be inserted?

I just replaced my 5 year old Windows computer with a new Windows computer. When I loaded Thunderbird on my old computer I had issues receiving my e-mail. My e-mail provider tech support was able to get me set up so that my e-mails went to a G-mail account and were forwarded to the computer. I used this setup for approximately 5 years. During that time I created several folders in Thunderbird and they have several important emails stored there. I setup my new Windows PC this past week and downloaded Thunderbird. To my surprise, I was able to set the program up so that it works without having to go through G-Mail. My issue is that I want to copy the e-mail folders and my address book from the old computer and move them into Thunderbird in my new computer. I have looked at your support page and I am concerned that when I move files from the old to the new that I will lose some e-mails and the few folders that I have on the new CPU. I would appreciate your direction and instructions on what I need to do to accomplish this task. The old computer Thunderbird files were up to date. Updates were completed as they came out. The new Thunderbird appears very different than the edition that is on my old machine. Thank you for your assistance.

I've just moved to Fedora 39. First tried installing the official fedora Thunderbird through discover and Thunderbird found my profile, created menu links to calendar, chat, address book, tasks, but they go no where. Uninstalled, tried the flatpak. Initially my .thunderbird file was not found and I had to manually relocate it into the new flatpak Thunderbird folder. Thunderbird then found my profile but calendar, chat, address book, tasks are STILL missing even though their menu links exist.

I've searched for solutions and in every one of them I have some important missing part i.e. lightning listed in addons(to remove and then re-add, its not listed there so I can't), find the "extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}" in my advanced settings - remove (no remove setting, only true or false, a sub menu where I can set its type, and a trash).

Any advice?

I have a new installation of Windows and want to get my old Profile attached to my new installation of Thunderbird. In the past, I have done it multiple times on various new computers but can't seem to get it working this time.

My old setup (and what I want on the new one, too) was:

  - I had multiple email accounts set up on Thunderbird within the same Profile
  - my Profile was stored on my D: Drive (to save space)

I have installed a fresh copy of Thunderbird onto D Drive. I have copied my old Profiles folder (from C:/Users...) to the new Thunderbird folder on my C drive

When I then open Thunderbird, it asks to set up a new email again and no sign of my old Profiles. I'm missing something and I'm pretty sure it has to do with my old Profile being on the D drive (and that's where I still want it)

I've been happily using Thunderbird for email for many years. Recently, the gmail OAuth2 requirement has made my POP3 accounts quit working. Currently on 38.5 for Windows 10.

Following various posts, I've tried to convert two specific email accounts to imap, and things are not going well.

My primary email is already imap and works fine. I've tried multiple times to convert the other two, and my current state is I've deleted those two accounts entirely (via Account Actions). When I try to install Existing Account, I eventually get to the point where the server config seems correct, but hitting "Done" results in the above message. I'd be surprised if imap.gmail.com can only support one email address. The emails are named differently, and use different passwords. Imap is enabled via browser based access to both accounts.

Incoming server imap.gmail.com:993 Outgoing smtp.gmail.com:465
