I was exploring this new 115 of Thunderbird and ended up wiping the message viewer off the screen.

To start with, I have my TBird 115 as it came "out of the box." Three columns, Inbox folder tree on the left, Cards List in the center, and message pane in the right side.

I messed everything up when I widened the Cards list to the right edge of the window, where the <---> arrowhead disappeared and all there is to the right side is the window resize arrow from my Linux system and that awful slim Jim scroll bar.

I recovered my message pane using F8 key; it is below my short list of email in the Cards View. See the attached screenshot.

I would like to return things back to as they were with the three columns as described above. I forgot, too, where I turned on Classic View. There is a checked box in Settings somewhere. Or is it a menu? I need some help, please.

May I suggest a limit somewhere short of the right-side edge of the window and short of the scroll bar to only widen the message pane "so far," such that one can recover from pushing it that far, using the same means to return it with the double arrow.

linux 21.2, runbox.com, thunderbird 115.5, on a website, https://urbansurvival.com/quadwitcher-for-insane-market/, i visit, i am allowed to use this switch, sorry i also use vivaldi as my browser, and i copied what i am trying to show you, but it refuses to paste. At least you have the website, which will have the switch in the bottom right hand corner. Anyway, it is a little switch in the bottom right hand corner of the website that allows you to switch the colors from light themed to dark themed. The dark theme has a shade of white writing on it. Thunderbird has dark fox as an add on, will that do the same thing? will it come in the form of a switch? so i can go back and forth from light to dark to light, depending on my mood???? Thank you...b3

for the record, i also have no idea where the clipboard is in vivaldi/thunderbird. I can see it is on the clipboard, but no idea where the clipboard is. For even more record, i would like to have 6-10 items on the clipboard and be able to take them off the clipboard and put into my emails depending on the recipient.

I don't use Windows Mail and have Thunderbird as my default email. However, when on a website using Firefox, and click on a "contact us" link to activate an email message to the website folks, a Windows Mail composition window opens instead of a Thunderbird composition window. I have to copy the email address out of the Windows Mail "To" field and paste into the Thunderbird "To" field.

How do I configure things such that clicking on a web link to open and start an email to said website results in that occurring in Thunderbird and not Windows Mail?

I'm on Win11 with latest Thunderbird as default email app and use latest Firefox browser.

Thanks! Eric

I have Thunderbird set up on PC and a Laptop. On the PC I have version 115.9 installed and the Laptop (which is a more recent purchase) version 115.10.

On the PC I can easily sort by "date", "correspondent", etc as there are click buttons at the top of each column but these do not appear in version 115.10.

I have looked at all the view menu options and cannot see that anything will help to change this. Was this functionality removed in the upgrade or is there a way to alter the view settings? The screen shot is from the Laptop.

TIA

This question was asked here and the answer worked for some years, but no longer does.

The method was pretty simple, just change browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground from the default FALSE to TRUE.

An update in the last few months (not sure which) broke this. So, what is the new way of doing this?

(Running TB v102.4.2 on LM 20.4)

I contribute monthly to Thunderbird, is there any way to disable the default page asking for donations?

Instead, you could just have a page that says thanks for a contribution (and a link to the page for managing it).

Or, I guess is there some way to edit that default page when launching Thunderbird?

Hello. I have two mailboxes. One is configured via POP3, the other via IMAP. It is necessary to transfer several folders (over 100) from POP3 to IMAP at once. Previously, it was possible to select several folders at once and move them. Now I can only transfer one folder at a time. I tried to go to the profile folder and just copy the folder files from there, but when Thunderbird is turned on, these folders are immediately deleted. Is there any other way? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I have a problem with finding the "Thread with Unread" option in the newest version of Thunderbird 115. In TB version 91 it was in Options > Threads > Thread with Unread and now it is gone. I was looking for a solution in the Google or on the TB forum, but I couldn't find it by phrase. Alternatively, is there newer option to configure the email view so that I can see only threads with at least one unread message? Best regards
