Cannot send or reply to emails. Can receive them fine. Alert message says "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded >jlheiman@charter.net< sender rejected. Check account address settings and try again." Account settings are correct. What do I do?

I'm using Thunderbird with my hotmail account and have never had a problem before yesterday. Now I get this error message. "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write priviledges." Can anyone advise on this? Temporary email is accounts@gardendesignernorthdevon.co.uk

I have used Thunderbird for years and I use it for work. For the last two days, it has started to go slow, and it will freeze and I have to close out of it. This JUST started, and this morning it is almost not functional.

I have looked everywhere I could find to see what I can do and I cannot find anything. I even tried re-installing it.

What can I do?

Hello. Currently receiving the following error pop-up with Thunderbird 115.4.1 on Win 10 22H2:

"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

This occurs when fetching new email from an sbcglobal.net POP3 account. Settings: inbound.att.net, port: 995, SSL/TLS, OAuth2. These settings have worked successfully for years until yesterday NOV 6 2023.

I have several other POP3 accounts all using the same settings shown above but none of them are triggering the pop-up error.

Can an expert please advise the specific conditions that trigger this error so I can determine where the fault lies? Example: Is this Thunderbird's interpretation of an error condition being transmitted by the email server requiring interaction with service provider? Is this Thunderbird's response to an internal problem like not enough disk space? (even though there is plenty)

A solution would be nice, but an explanation re: the triggering mechanism is absolutely required. Thanks.

Recent update switched all folder to show messages grouped into threads. This makes it harder to find new messages. As a result I did not see an email inviting me to a job interview for 2 months. Far too late to act on it.

Updates should NOT change any configuration settings. This is NOT acceptable.

Also, I have a lot of folders. There seems to be no way to set them all to unthreaded all at once. So now, I have to go through them one by one changing them back to the way it was.

I needed that job desperately and now I'm screwed. If I don't find a job in the next couple of weeks, I could be homeless.

The irony is that I have over 35 years of experience writing software but I can't find a job because of age discrimination.

Thanks for ending my life.

I work with my tabs a lot. When I open an attachment, Thunderbird opens a new tab and buts the content of the attachment (pdf) into a new tab. Often I need to save my work and stop working that day, and just let my computer go into sleep mode with Thunderbird still open in windows. In the previous versions, I could just start working the next day, and all my tabs are populated with the attachments and information I left open the day before. With this new update 115.4.2 (32-bit) it does not retain any of the information in any of the tabs that were previously left open. It only happens when the computer has been sleeping overnight or for an extended period of time. If I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up pretty quickly it keeps the tabs just fine. Very frustrating

This started two days ago and I've been searching the web for solutions, but all I get are outdated solutions that won't wonk on my current Thunderbird version 115.4.2. When I open the Thunderbird window, two smaller windows open asking for me to enter the passwords for the two att.net accounts. I assumed they meant my AT&T passwords but when I entered them they came back as "failed". I then tried the "master" password I put in several years ago (which I have never needed to re-enter) and that didn't work either. I am attaching a photo of what comes up when I open Thunderbird. You can see the two boxes that want me to enter the passwords but I have no idea what to enter. If it wasn't my master password or my AT&T passwords for each account, it must have been something I used when I installed Thunderbird ten years ago that somehow got deleted or lost.

I downloaded another email client to use temporarily until I get my Thunderbird fixed so I can not get my emails, but I hate this new client for a lot of reasons that are irrelevant here. I hate this new client and I need my Thunderbird back. Can anyone give me any idea on how to find the right password or to change the password so it will work again?

I use Thunderbird for 4 Google email accounts and 1 Sasktel email account. All 5 accounts are IMAP. Sometime within the last few days, hundreds of sent emails have gone missing from one of the Google email accounts, and the single Sasktel email account.

I haven't made any changes.

My disk cleaner is set to leave Thunderbird alone.

Thunderbird updates automatically. Could the most recent update have somehow deleted my emails?

Is there any way to get those sent emails back on my laptop? I see that they still exist on the Sasktel and Gmail servers (if that's the right terminology)?

Hello,

I am using Thunderbird 115.4.2 (64-bit) on Win10. Some of my emails have those subjects are not readable as image attached. They are supposed to be chinese charaters. In " View Source" choice, they're displaying correctly. But I tried " repair text encoding" didn't work.

And in my Font Advanced setting, it's searchable that there's encoding. But I cannot see it in my interface. If someone could share how it can be fixed?

I have a client that is responsible for sending emails to all members of a board of directors on a timely manner. All members are on Gmail. The client is also on Gmail. She has created a list in Outlook to send a monthly document. Sends it to the list. Google refuses to execute and does not notify until a day or so later. Error msg says the bulk mailing rule offended.(Rule says it comes into effect when 2500 emails sent but balks at a list of 40...go figure) The solution I am looking for would send to the list members one at a time 10 seconds apart sidestepping the Google Bulk email bulk mailing rule. Is there a way to script and call from an email list?

Since 115.4.1 update all attempts to send/reply/forward emails fail with error message AUP#Out-1500 asking to verify email address -- which was not changed. Same problem after update to 115.4.2. No problem to send email directly from Spectrum's Road Runner web site.
