Thunderbird Support Forum

When my customer receives my email reply from me, my reply winds up at the bottom of thread rather than the top where it should be. They are looking at the top of the thread and see nothing. My customers aren't happy about that. Can I change this?

Main inbox window minimizes when I click on "+ New Message" or Reply to an email. I can't seem to find a setting to prevent this from happening. Is this a bug? Just annoying how it does this when I need refer to another email while replying/composing a new message. Any help would be very much appreciated!

upon reinstalling windows set up thunderbird again I could not set up my main email Broxx@shaw.ca I entered all the correct information and the set email just sits there can set Gmail but not my main email. here is the troubleshooting data

In quick filter toolbar I am missing to search by from, to , subject, body as it was in TB112. Without using addons, such as Expression Search this would be a major flaw of the new TB115 in the usability.

We have been using Thunderbird for years and love it. I have a considerable amount of emails now stored/filed under local folders which does well to keep my inbox clean. But they do take up space on my Hard Drive. I have a Dell which uses 2 drives- one with flash smaller at 500G and another with a Terabyte So I have several questions which relate to moving those emails off to another drive or location

• I can export each email individually as HTML or save as a txt file and move it to another Drive (portable or to my larger D drive)

-this is time consuming when dealing with 1000 + emails -is there a program that will do that for multiple email files at one time? Either at Thunderbird utility or 3rd party?

• Is there a way to re-direct my "local files" saved in the Thunderbird profile to point to a location on my secondary D drive where I have more space?

Many of the emails are for business and so we do need to keep them for past referencing. Not often, but they need to be retained Any suggestions would be most helpful!

My hard drive had to be replaced and now I cannot recover my Thunderbird Email. Keeps asking for a password but won't accept it. Asks for password for "mobile.charter.net" I think I have totally screwed up all the settings in trying to find a solution. I checked with my internet provider but no help. I'm using Thunderbird 115.8.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10 with IMAP, a gmail account, all folders are set to sync offline.

Two days ago someone sent me a message with a couple of attachments, I read it, it was downloaded ok.

Today, working offline, I try to read the same message and I get "The Body of this message has not been downloaded for offline use".

Searching for this problem online is insanely frustrating as there appears to be an infinite number of explanations online telling me how to get the message body downloaded. It WAS downloaded, I was looking at it two days ago! This has been a common problem in Thunderbird for me for several years now. Messages are downloaded, read, I go offline, they are still there ok, then a few days later they mysteriously say "The Body of this message has not been downloaded for offline use".

Fragments of the message bodies appear in search results, even at the same time as trying to read the messages gives me "The Body of this message has not been downloaded for offline use." It's in there somewhere, I can even find the entire message body by searching the data files in the profile folder, but Thunderbird THINKS it's not downloaded.

I need to work offline a lot, and any help would be very much appreciated.

Each time I try to send an email it tells me to select a certificate for Authentication. Each time I do this if I select any of the options and hit okay it does not work. But if I just hit cancel it sends the message I'm not sure how to get this error message to stop popping up or just go away all together or what the issue is in the first place.

Attachments open minimized. I get mp4 files and they open in the tray. I have to click on them to see them. If I hover over them you can see the preview. I have ran Thunderbird in the Troubleshooting mode, I made a new profile, Searched for help and Google has found nothing. It's been doing this for a couple of months. If you have any suggestions.

Trying to install 102 Beta. I am asked for my password. Which password is it? Thunderbird or Imap? Where can I find the password in use? Tried password manager, found two passwords, none of which worked. What to do?

Can I run Thunderbird 102 (full install) with Supernova portable? I want to see what SN looks like w/o commiting it. If I install SN portable on my Win 10 PC can I later remove it w/o damaging my TB 102?

I recently started donating and making monthly contributions because I'm a big Thunderbird fan but recently the entire program has become a mess and what once was simple to add an account has become torture and useless with nothing but errors and having to re-enter data, the find your settings automatically picks the wrong settings it's to the point I just want to find another mail client. Also note they need a simple "SUPPORT" link at the top of the main page and not loops of material to read

My problem now is the latest Thunderbird is impossible install with constant errors which end in dumping you out and losing all the data you entered. What the hell has changed?

Hi Thunderbird; I am a financial contributor to your great e-mail program. One irksome issue I would like to see resolved to have a pop up asking"are you sure you want to do this" when moving e-mail subfolders two and more tiers down from one subfolder to another. I have over 100 e-mail subfolders in our company e-mail program and many more beneath those. Many times I will drag and drop e-mails directly from my inbox screen into subfolders in the left pane.(rather than using the "move" command) Occasionally I do not keep pressure on my left mouse button to do this. (I know , my fault). Instead of moving the specific e-mail(s), I now inadvertantly pick up a subfolder and drop it in a different folder, not realizing I have done this. When I finally realize the errant folder is not where it supposed to be( sometimes a day or two later), I spend a fair amount of time tracking it down and moving it back to it's original position.

Having a pop up message asking me if I really want to do this would be helpful and I'm sure would be appreciated by others who have 'lost' folders in a similar fashion.

My OS is Linux Mint 20.3 Una base: Ubuntu 20.04 focal Thunderbird version 102.4.2 (64-bit) "Today" marker does not advance to current calendar day after midnight of the previous calendar day in monthly view. The monthly view is the only view I use. If the < Today > link at the top of the calendar is mouse-clicked, it does not advance to the current day but remains on the previous day. To advance the day marker I have to click either "<" for previous month or ">" for the next month and then click Today. At that point the calendar will return to the current month and highlight the current day. This problem was also present on a previous version of LM (18.3) My add-ons are: Cardbook v. 83.6 ConfirmBeforeDelete v. 1.7.0 Lightening Calendar Tabs v. 2.8 Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV v. 4.3 TaskviewFlexLayout v. 62.9

There are two disabled extensions which could be uninstalled as they have been disable "since dirt was young,": TabAddressBook ToDo.txt Both were automatically disabled by Thunderbird due to incompatibility and I have no further need for them The active extensions are used with regularlity. This is a "livible" problem but but an irritation. Searches with multiple search engines have turned up nothing on this issue since 2020 and/or v. 68 of Tbird. Thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide on this issue. Mozilla software has bee my default software of choice, also "since dirt was young," and for what it's worth (which is very little) I check viable alternatives virtually every six months to see what your "competition" has to offer. I am using Thunderbird Supernova and am pretty happy with it. However, I cannot figure out how to specify a different time zone than the system timezone when creating an event. For example, if I just bought a flight that departs at 4PM London time and I am in Miami when creating the event, how can I create this event without having to convert that time to my current time?

Surely this is possible but I can't figure out how. Thanks for any help!

All other accounts are visible though.
