I have installed the latest version of Bluebird. All address books are there. Calendar events did not migrate, but the Calendar is there. Everything seems normal, however I cannot get mail messages from gmail, and when I try to Send an email generated in Bluebird, I get an authentication error [no valid certificate], and I cannot create an exception. Less often, I am asked for my gmail password, which is not recognized when I type it in.

If anyone has had to deal with this, and found a solution, I sure would love to fix this. I have been using Bluebird for 25 years. I hate the idea that I might have to give it up. My eMail address is: ejcclare@gmail.com.

I am using a Mac with Big Sur (macOS Monterey Version 12.7.3), and my email is POP, using Thunderbird Version 115.8. One of my emails has disappeared. It was in my inbox and now it is gone. The email is dated Feb 26, 2024 and is an email confirmation of an item to be shipped. Please help. Delano Attride

Send and get messages very often (mostly) trigger a message panel that TB is 'busy' Delete mostly doesn't work, when it does I get a blank screen (within TB frame work) and to get back to my INBox I have to 'show' another box (any) then re-trigger Inbox. alan@aloz.org.uk

Can't send e-mails on Thunderbird 115.8.0

Am in the UK. I am able to receive e-mails, but not able to send e-mails. All was well until relatively recently. The following message appears: Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.uwclub.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.

I gave gone through all suggestions I can find online, (including the "Cannot send messages" support page here) but still no success.

Mail provider: uwclub.net ISP: BT Firewall: off (Mac) Antivirus: Avast Security Operating system: Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 Thunderbird 115.8.0

I can still send e-mails from my account using the mail provider webmail facility (but not through Thunderbird.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I exported all my Thunderbird data, including adressbooks in an export file called: Thunderbird_profile_backup...then I uninstalled Thunderbird, because changes needed to made in the incoming and ourgoing mail settings. I downloaded Thunderbird again and installed it, entered the new settings and all my emails came back in. But I still need to import my address book which I did not save in a csv. file. It is in Thunderbird_profile_backup... I sse files in there like this filename: abook.sqlite.... Do you know how I can import my addressbooks from Thunderbird_profile_backup.? with many thanks

Until this afternoon, the emails I wrote all had a word wrap at 72 characters. Now I get a long line of text without the wrapping. I can not locate any place in the settings (an area which I usually avoid because I don't know what half of those switches will do).

I'm old (80) and old school to boot, so please be clear in providing me with the steps I need to take to restore that 72-character wrap. Thanks for any (and all) suggestions.

So I downloaded my Receipts folder from my yahoo mail to a local folder on my desktop. When I start Thunderbird it adds a copy of the folder and several other files every time over and over again. I delete them and they just come back. example: Receipt folder Receipt folder copy.sbd Trash Trash.msf Unsent messages Unsent messages.msf Is there any way to prevent this?

Hello I have noticed that global Thunderbird search (Ctlr+K) does not index email subjects. So, if I search for keyword which is present only in email subject and not in email body, then search does not return result. If I'm in correct folder and use quick search (Ctrl+Shift+K) with search by subject enabled then it find this email.

Is there any way to search globally by keywords in subject?

The user interface is really confusing. There is a X right on top which closes Thunderbird. In the statusbanner every mail occurs with the title and an X to remove it from the banner.

Until that point no problem.

But I keep my archive on my NAS server as .eml files. When I open one of them they do't appear in the opened Thunderbird, but in e new window with the X for closing ricght in the top..

So when I am reading my new e-mails and want to open an old one it is in a new window with the close X right on top. Moving around between new and archived mails is confusing. The new mails mus be closed on the banner and the archived mails right on the top. Which means that during working like that I close Thunderbird itself many times, have to restart the profile again etc. Not very speed improving.

I see two options: First: open arhived e-mail not as an extra window but within the mail screen second: make it possible to point to a local map within "local maps", or make it possible to archive in local maps outside Thinderbird, hence in any local map on my computer (or NAS server) Then the user interface with a banner for opened e-mails is similar for archived mail and new ones.
