I tried the recommendations of "david" a Top 10 Contributor, in his post 3/3/2022 04:08, but none of the three choices which I accessed via Tools > Settings > Reading & Display got rid of the extra tabs. Anyone else have a fix for this? It just started a couple of weeks ago. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can render! David

Hello support, When starting Thunderbird (v 115.4.1) it crashes after a few seconds even in safe mode with error message "Failed to open curl lib from binary, use libcurl.so instead". DB crash reports have been submitted (see e.g. bp-28dbde9c-184d-4f7b-ae3a-f115b0231121). I reinstalled Thunderbird as well as curl (located in /usr/bin) but the problem remains ! Please advice ! Your instructions for unthreading do not work. The commands you suggest do not appear in my "View" folder. And I do not want to unthreads many dozens of folders manually.

Please provide guidance on how to fix this, or I will have to abandon Thunderbird (which I have used loyally for many years) or work via the Gmail platform (ugh).

The message list pane can not be reduced below 10 messages, and the header area height is too much, also. My wife was happy with the amount email content she could see previously, but hates the new version.

The message list size issue is known since July (four months!). It depends on a single number in the code, and yet this number has not been changed. My confidence in the Thunderbird team is badly shaken by something so irritating to so many, so easy to change, and still has not been changed.

We both want to know when these issues will be corrected. I want to avoid the hassle and effort to teach her to use Outlook, so please tell me if the change is going to happen before December!

I live out in the country now. I have the only internet provider who comes out here - Frontier.com. They do not give an email address to new customers. So I do NOT have an email ending with @frontier.com to set up the connection to my new internet provider via Thunderbird. I've tried every possible configuration to try to get Thunderbird to connect without an actual @frontier.com email address. Frontier wanted me to use an already present att email with them. But obviously Thunderbird knows I don't have an att account!! So how the heck do I get Thunderbird to connect to my internet without an @frontier.com email!!!!???? I have manually configured the settings over and over with different emails trying to get it to connect without any luck. I have spent days on this. I have talked to Frontier many times and been hung up on when I get to the obvious question of how can I connect to the internet in my email program without an @frontier.com email. I am afraid that I will have to try some other program to be able to get my emails..... but I don't want to!!

I have 5 email addresses on my ISP account, 4 are fine. The other will not send reporting Authtication failure.

I have removed that address from Thunderbird & tried to add it again but the configuration fails.

I can send from the issue address using my ISP's web mail. I know the username & password are correct. It also works fine on my phone.

The problem seems to be Thunderbird.

updates of all kinds, for whatever the program have caused me more problems and down time than any virus ever has. i put off restarting thunderbird and edge for weeks or maybe months for fear of a failure. i dropped my guard for just a moment and accidentally allowed a restart and sure enough it now appears that thunderbird is fatally flawed. before the update it worked perfectly. God only knows what it will take to get it working again. i'm tired of fooling with fixes that don't work so if mozilla doesn't fix it i will have to move on to something that does work. if it ain't broke, please don't fix it.

supernovA how do I go back to "classic" which works? the new version has problems all over it , I can't move an email to folders as the folders have disappeared in the navigation bar and the pull down only shows about 8 folders ,, , the navigation bars is totally new and not a good UI at all, too much change with a big bang, no support , no way to fix it..it was easy to use - but now no longer , as I can't do anything ,, let alone even play with it and learn.

You should never release software to a user base without stepping them through things first, , you've probably turned a lot of people off.. and could have lost them forever

Hi everyone - is there a way to export ALL emails from a Yahoo Mail inbox? I have tried right clicking on literally every single folder in the account, clicking on "ImportExportTools NG" then "Export All Messages in Folder" and it only exported like a maximum of 30-ish emails, minimum of 1 in each inbox. I also tried the ImportExport add-on and the sizes of the files were not right. I'm wondering if the files in the "ImapMail" folder in C drive contain whole thing?

Thanks so much for anything I can try at this point.

I only have mail back to Oct10 with them but it should go back to the beginning of Jan2021. My ISP says the missing emails from their server are the fault of my email app, Thunderbird. I use pop3 and always "leave the email on the server until I delete". No settings have changed but they insist the problem is on my end. Is there anything else I should be looking at or are they the problem, as I suspect?

I am using Thunderbird as my one and only e-mail programme on my laptop to avoid collection of personal data. However, all the time I get pop-ups from Microsoft (see uploaded image), tempting me to allow Microsoft to collect these very data that I want to avoid. I have to either click on cancel (annuleren) or allow (accepteren). I always click on cancel (annuleren) or on the X in the upper righthand corner. But during the move in Thunderbird, the same Microsoft message pops-up. How can I get rid of these annoying pop-ups?

I receive emails from four different accounts in Thunderbird (two from Comcast, and two from Outlook). Most of them are working fine, but one of the Outlook accounts has not been working correctly for the last few days, apparently since the last update, 115.4.3. Emails to this one account have been delayed by several hours, sometimes by as much as twelve. I have not changed any settings at all. The emails are not in the account online, so they seem to be floating around in cyberspace somewhere before they finally come through in Thunderbird. How can I fix this?
