Title. Thunderbird is a really cool client but it's pretty slow. I blame that on the thousands upon thousands of emails that my hotmail and gmail each hold. I don't necessarily want to delete these emails, but I have seldom a reason to have any email older than 2 months in my thunderbird client slowing and crashing the program whenever I want to combine inboxes.

To this end I went to "Synchronization & Storage" and told it to "Synchronize the most recent 2 months" but it didn't delete the huge cluster of older emails. The next option is to tell TB to delete these emails in the same menu but as I understand it that would also delete them in the server, which I don't want to do for posteriority.

What do I do?

This is the message I get when trying to send emails: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: pgbentley101@gmail.com recipient rejected. Please check the message recipient "pgbentley101@gmail.com" and try again."

Recently I received a message that seemed helpful So I started a fresh download of ThunderBird The post finish of install wizard repopulated all of the prior information possibly preventing in at least testing a different email client.

Q: how to remove the prior information from reappearing again. Following an attempt to delete the previous download ?

My reply to the four questions he posed follows: 1) I have had a well-functioning email before this problem occurred; 2) There have been no changes to my computer that I have noticed; 3) I don't know what "server settings" are, and; 4) I have not received error messages, not this time, nor the previous two times when this problem occurred.

I lost my password and had to remove and readded my Suddenlink email, which autodeletes emails past a date and size. I want to have it sync with my local folder inbox only so i can ignore the autodelete off of suddenlinks inbox

I need to change my email server settings from impa to POP3 I can't figure it out I've tried to follow your directions on site and they're worthless all I get is continuously hitting me up saying they can't match up with my server they can't find my accounts I talked to spectrum and they gave me the ports that they're supposed to be at and everything else but no matter what we tried it does not come back I can't change it from the impa to the POP3 even with the directions can you help me please feel free to call me cuz it'll be so much easier to do this the real way by phone [removed phone# from public support forum] thank you very much Sean

I've been using Thunderbird for a long time now, and am wanting to add a secondary account, but it won't let me set it up. I continue getting an error that it cannot log in to the server, that either the configuration, email or password is wrong.

I've tried four different times, have tried changing the password, have tried rebooting and setting up again, all to no avail. I've also called my ISP and they cannot figure it out, either.

When I try to log into my Thunderbird account after it has been updated I receive this message: "Login to server imap.windstream.net with username ( ) failed". Can you help me get my emails?

I need someone in Tallahassee, Fl, to help me with my account. Is there anyone who understands and can help me with my existing account that needs straightening out. I would like personal assistance.

Ever since the updates I can't move the bar up to have a smaller window for emails and a larger window for the actual letter. I used to move it up to have the last 3 emails showing. Now the least I can have is 10, leaving a small window for the letter itself. Why? Why make updates that give us less flexibility. Sometimes updates drive people like me crazy. We get used to something and it gets changed. I have been sending in money to support this email program. But right now I'm quite discouraged with it and wondering if I should be looking for something else.
