I want to change the line spacing in my emails to single line including paragraph spacing. Advice given in previous posts says to select Menu then Options. I have clicked on the 3 bar Menu icon and Options is not there. I clicked on Tools in the Menu Bar and Options is not there either. I apparently have to get to Composition, but cannot find a way of getting there.

I am having issues with Thunderbird not retaining my email server and passwords. Each time I want to send an email, it prompts me for the password and then tells me that the email address and server don't match. I have tried numerous times to correct this, but it doesn't hold the information. It also switches the server info between accounts. I have 3 different email account and sometimes only one works correctly

I have a persistent spammer who's sent me the same email approaching 300 times so far and has done so for weeks. I want to forward them automatically to SpamCop for reporting, but they require email submissions to include the spam as an attachment. I can't find a way to forward as attachment from a message filter.

All messages I receive from "nytdirect@nytimes.com" are being identified as spam. I have added this address to "collected addresses" and enabled the option in junk mail settings but it still is identified. My DKIM extension reports that DKIM is valid and signed by NY Times. SPF is a pass and DMARC is a pass. I have enabled adaptive junk filtering and each time it comes in I click the "not junk" button.

I have enabled the adaptive junk filter logging but the log is always empty. Messages from other sources seem to be ok. My messages are being forwarded to me from DYNU's message forwarding service.

Any suggestions on what I can do will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My friend has been using Thunderbird for a long time. Recently I installed her new PC and restored her account profile using the profile folder on her old PC. So far so good. The problem is that her mails are not organized in folders on the mail server but she has a whole collection of folders in her Thunderbird mail client and is concerned about loosing her mails if the new PC (or the disk) would crash at some point. Of course she could just re-install Thunderbird after fixing the crash problem and sync with the mail server, but then the folder structure would be lost. First I considered using a back-up program to keep a back-up of her Thunderbird profile using cloud storage. My second thought (should have been my first thought...) is that she already has a back-up, namely the mail server. The ISP does a better job than any local back-up program to keep her mails safe. Only the missing folder structure remains a concern. So here is the question: if I change the setting to sync all folders with the mail server, what will happen: 1 - the folders in Thunderbird will disappear (only the folders, not the mails) because there are no folders on the mail server 2 - the folder structure from Thunderbird will be mirrorred on the ISP's mail server. Which one is it?

Good Day,

For the last few weeks, when using Thunderbird on Windows and writing a draft email, when clicking on the button to create a link, the draft email window freezes. This also happens if I use the menu bar Insert -> Links...

All other Thunderbird windows remain functioning, and I can effectively continue working, but the frozen draft window will remain on screen until closed through Task Manager.

This only happens when creating a Link, not inserting other objects, like an Image. This problem also does not happen with Thunderbird on Ubuntu.

I am running version 115.10.1.

Thanks in advance for any tips that could be of help.

My T'bird is functioning OK at this release level, though I see that 115.4.2 has now been made available. I only use the email in/sent etc together with Local Folders ... I do not need to deploy such as Calendar/Tasks/Chat etc.

Can I now safely update or should I hold at my current version ... I read a lot about numerous issues still giving users operational problems, though some of course can be due to user set up. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I bought a new laptop with the newest Windows 11 version and installes Thunderbird on it. Now I miss a viewing panel of my emails. Formerly I always could see the contents of the most above mail in a view-panel under that email, but now I cannot find that option anywhere in the program, as well as online. Hopefully you can help me with restoring that option....?

Thanks so much in advance! Warm regards, Frea Plantinga

The latest version of Thunderbird shows fonts in the editor window much smaller than they actually are. Was working fine until the most recent update to version 115. I'm using Thunderbird on Linux Mint 20.2 64 bit, with Mate 1.24.0. See images. 'Actual font size' shows what the text looks like in the preview window and as it shows when received (tested with a gmail account on a phone). The 'Small font display' image shows the same text in the editor window (used reply to illustrate). Something has gone seriously pear shaped here. To send an email with the receiver getting fonts at a reasonable size, I now have to write the email using tiny text on screen or compose the message in a text editor and paste it in. I've tried searching for a solution and implementing suggestions relating to density and config-editor without success. (Looks like a bug. Smells like a bug. Waddles like a bug) Any solution, please. Have five email accounts, only 2 are set to check mail at startup. A change has taken the ability to click the down menu in the Get Messages icon to show all the accounts for a individual account check. With this change , if its intentional, it allows no obvious method to check these seldom used accounts. Checked the customization for the old "Get Message" with the down menu so I can return this feature and its not shown as a choice. If this is the intent then the "Account Settings" "Server Settings" to "Check for new messages at start up" which can be either checked or unchecked needs some attention. The missing down menu allowed these unchecked accounts to be checked only by selecting this down menu allowed clicking any of my 5 accounts account, and if memory is correct a choice to check all accounts.

If this is intentional change, how do I check individual accounts that are unchecked as still allowed in the settings.

Should this "Get Messages" with the down menu feature be returned or the "Account Setting / Server Settings" be changed to not allow a choice but require all accounts to be checked at start up, after a period of time, or by clicking "Get Messages" again to get newer messages all the time rather then by choice.

I'm requesting it be returned as a choice in the Customization items as I see no way to now check accounts with my current Account / Server settings as separate actions.

How do I do this manually as I could not find something saying to "download contacts" or anything like that. There is the "Directory Server:" option but I don't know what that is or how to use it. I didn't do that on my other Thunderbird installation (Work Computer). My email server is Mail.com if that matters. Thanks

My environment - I am running Thunderbird 115.10.2 (64-bit), and Windows 10. - I have had NO Windows updates for at least two weeks.

The problem - About five days ago, outgoing messages (messages I was trying to send) started taking about 15 to 30 seconds before they were sent successfully.

- Today, I am unable to send messages. I can receive messages.

Actions I have taken 1. I re-installed Thunderbird after using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it. 2. I contacted my ISP. They checked their settings, and have been unable to detect any error.

Please help!

When TB starts up, the only folders I can see are Recent. I can go to View/Folders and click ALL, and as soon as I move the mouse away from that menu item, it switches back to Recent. This started on version 115.09, but persists after I've "upgraded" to 115.10.1.

It has now (5/3/24 17:25 CDT) been 2-1/2 days since I submitted this problem, and no one has responded that it has even been noticed, much less solved. One of my two email accounts is a POP3, and the other is IMAP. The IMAP account Inbox doesn't even show up on the TB home screen. (If that info is of any help).

PLEASE ADVISE. My emails are an integral part of my business, and I cannot get to almost any them.

Thanks, rehawkpe

Hello, I very recently bought a new laptop and I am trying to set up Thunderbird to access my mail server. I still using my old machine so I have used it to copy the POP3 info etc. But Thunderbird doesn't like anything I've entered. It initially came up with "GoDaddy" connections which I have no connection with at all, so I set up the incoming and outgoing manually copying, exactly from my old laptop, but no success. This is really frustrating. Any suggestions?
