I have been using Thunderbird 102.14.0 for some time but it has suddenly stopped saving sent files to the sent directory. The file is sent to the recipient.

the message I get:- Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-anathan@iinet.net.au.

Hello there! Please can someone help me? On my pc, lately, when I move an email from my Thunderbird Inbox to a folder, the message does 'go' from my Inbox, but it does not re-appear in the folder. In fact, the message seems to disappear! However, the message tally count for that folder indicates that the message should be there, but it isn't visible. It's obviously been happening for a while but I don't know when it will have started. In the attached image, the folder 'Chatham, Cape Cod' shows that it should have 10 messages in it, but you'll see that the folder is empty, no messages are showing. In fact, all of the 3 folders 1) Boston, 2) Chatham, Cape Cod, and 3) Virgin Atlantic show that they have messages in them, but on opening each folder, each of those folders is empty. I should add that, on my phone or ipad, when I view my folders, all of the messages are visible. It is just on my PC that the messages are not visible. I've uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled it, but that didn't help. And I don't know what else to do! I'd be so grateful for help as I'm not techy and, as I work mainly from my PC, it's proving to be difficult not having all of my messages visible in their folders on my PC. For the past 20 years FutureQuest.net has been hosting our website wilkoff.com. But FutureQuest has informed us they are going out of business. Our emails have been mark@wilkoff.com and linda@wilkoff.com. Also over the last 20 years we have used Thunderbird to access and store our emails. I have found a new host for our website so we can keep the email addresses but obviously the server settings are going to change. What do I need to do to make sure I do not lose all the stored emails on Thunderbird? Thank you.

Everytime I open up Thunderbird to try to send an email, it says “Login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ricc failed”

It also says “Cannot get mail. The mail server “imap.shaw.ca” is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail Settings.”

It also says “login to server pop.shaw.ca with username ricc failed” “Enter your password for ricc on imap.shaw.ca

This on an IOS device (ipod 7)

My isp won;t help because they say they don’t support a third party application, so can you help?

My hospital phone doesn;t do toll free or long distance calls

We have been trying to repair the sent folder in Thunderbird without success. Messages do not get saved there. Several recently have ended threads an said there is no support for email but that seems to be confused? In any case it loos like there is no simple fix to get the sent folder back. Do you think it would solve the issue to uninstall Thunderbird and install it again? Thank you for the help.

I keep getting this message when clicking Get Messages in Thunderbird : "Unable to establish TLS connection to POP3 server. The server may be down or may be incorrectly configured. I have two principal address books, collected and personal. I can add new contacts to these address books. Under collected, I have three lists of group contacts. I want to add a contact to a list in the personal address book. Searched under Firefox and lots of suggestions to drag n drop. Ha ha, highlighting the contact, the moment I drag it across the box towards the list of address books, I get the no-entry symbol, circle with a bar through it. Why is this happening please? How can I copy across the address books or lists? Why is drag n drop suggested when it doesn't work? I'm using Win 10 Pro vers 22H2 64 bit on a Dell PC. Firefox 118.0.2 64 bit. Your aid will save my mind !

Sorry for posting this here but no response in TB forum. After I installed the latest up grade TB 115 I have lost all the old emails in my inbox, sent, and trash as well as the ability to use TB as I can't sign in. I get the following prompt when trying to use my account. "Sending of password for user ****@att.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later", and then a prompt to "Enter your password" which does not work, although the pass word shows up in"passwords". The TB account works fine in the Yahoo web account, but I don't keep anything there on a daily basis. The web TB account lets me send and receive mail normally. I haven't changed my configuration ,password or uninstalled TB. My G mail works normally. My android cell also won't let me sign in and asks for credentials per password which is unrecognized.

I have read the solutions for threading and well they either don't work or are not options. There is no View>sortby. I have a view> toolbars view>layout and view>folders none of which even have a sortby under them. I can not deal with this threading. I hate to give up Thunderbird but I cant work like this. HELP

Please can you help us, We have used thunderbird for many years. It updates automatically. We are sending email out to all different addresses, they are being received. However if we send an e mail to a G mail account it goes out and shows it gone but it does not reach the the g mail account . This is not just one person. this multiple g amil accounts. Our internet provider claims it is thunderbirds fault. Hope someone can help. John

I cannot see the Trash folder in one of my imap accounts. I have tried all the tips and suggestions I have been able to find using google searches, but none of them allow me to see the Trash folder.

I can see the Trash folder when I access the account with Firefox. The account runs on Google mail but appears as an account at my university. I also have a straight google mail account and I can see the trash folder in that account--in that account Trash and other folders (e.g., spam,sent) appear as subfolders of [Gmail]. This means I'm able to recover items in the Trash folder only by logging into the account using Firefox.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thunderbird displays messages as a long list. It never did that before an update, and now I can not find out how to turn that nonsense off! I don't want to see every message from some person tabbed across the screen when I search for their name. I want to just pick one message, often a recent message.

How do I search for a message from a random person and only get one message I choose to view?

Since installing Thunderbird for windows v102.3.0 (32-bit), I can't dismiss a calendar event, which keeps looping to ask if I want to save or dismiss change for an "item changed on server" message. I rec'd the invite externally from Outlook. Neither option works; I can't delete the calendar entry either ... the event is stuck in an endless loop and will not dismiss. I'm now one day past the event date/time and still can't dismiss. Pls advise. Thank you.

I keep getting this message whenever I try to get my emails. "Login to server ... with username ... failed"

I have no idea what to do to get the emails coming in. This has happened before, but eventually seemed to fix itself before I had to do something. There is nothing on this "Help" thing that seems to apply or if it does, I have no idea what the answer signifies.

I think I've done another password, but nothing came up or said anything regarding this so I don't know if it worked.

If you are kind enough to give this message any thought, please put your answer in words of two syllables or less & please don't talk about POS or Pop or whatever. I have no idea what that is. I just want to get this thing working again.

Hello everyone,

I would be grateful if anyone could offer a solution.

I use Thunderbird Version 91.9.1 on a Windows 10 PC. I am in England UK. I have several gmail, outlook and gmx email accounts, which i use in one desktop client for convenience. It used to be MS Outlook, but now I am using Thunderbird. All my emails are setup as as IMAP.

In my email accounts I have many folders, and there are some messages which I need to update regularly. I originally created these messages in 'drafts' in MS Outlook and then moved them to their different folders where i can edit them. MS Outlook allows you to edit messages in IMAP folders, i.e. you can treat them as 'drafts' as long as you created the message.

In Thunderbird, my IMAP messages which I can usually edit in MS Outlook, are not available to 'edit'. They open as templates.

How can i change this? How can I continue doing this in Thunderbird? I don't mind setting all my messages as 'drafts' if there is only one setting.

I don't want to contemplate the other option of moving the message to the draft folder to edit and then move it back. That would be very inconveniet as i have many emails, each with different folders. In a nutshell, I want to be able to edit messages in my IMAP folders, the messages I have created myself.

Any advice welcomed and I thank you in advance.
