Hello. Since installing Thunderbird v91.5 on my new Windows 11 laptop, I get a Secure Connection Failure when trying to get add-ons. This doesn't happen with my other PC's running Windows 10. Anyone have a solution? -- Thanks!

Keep losing my emails on my pc after 3 weeks using Thunderbird. Tried checking settings many times but cannot fixed the problem. I basically want to keep my emails permanently on my pc once downloaded from my email server. Also I once downloaded I want to clear emails from the email server which has only got a limited capacity. Please help or advice where the settings are to do the above thanks a lot. I have already spent many hours on this but cannot figure this out. After 3 weeks Thurderbird removed all my emails on my pc

I'd like to be able to configure the format of numbered lists, both for a particular list in an email, and as a default template that will apply to all future emails that I compose.

I can find no documentation on how numbered lists are supposed to work. Mine are currently giving me roman numerals at all levels, e.g.

1. Top level

 1.  Next level
   1.  Lower level

I've come across some interesting options, including particularly https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1052897, which I've tried, but it doesn't work for me.

Hi, every time i upload csv file to run in local outbox, it sends email on the basis of time . Is there anyway to sort emails by correspondent name and send it accordingly.

Is there anyway to reset the dates or remove the dates from drafts. i have multiple emails to send, and for some reason , I would like to either give same date/time to the selected emails or completely remove it.

Hello I try to move emails with the filter function (from x to z). Both folders exist. I can not choose the destination folder. It is dimmed and says "Destination folder not available". Thank you Heinrichxx

This button has never worked for me. If I want to manually check for emails, I have to use the down arrow beside it and select one of my two email addresses. Do I need to check a box somewhere in both account settings to tell Thunderbird to use the control?

The email composing window includes Write: in the title (before the actual email title). How can I remove this part from the title?

The space I have on my device is narrow where I can see the titles of the emails being composed and I would like to see only the email title in that location, without the "Write:" portion. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

is there a setting for mail composition that shows a line ending symbol for the email's content? I mean something like the pilcrow (looks like a reversed uppercase P letter) in Microsoft Word.

Or is there an add-on for that?

Your system is a DOG, I had to reset my laptop and when I reinstalled Thunderbird, I didnt know there was box to Check/uncheck about leaving emails on your server, so to dumped all my emails older than 14 days.

I did try the forum to try and find a repair and only got 1 comment from a Matthew ( I think)

Total waste of time!!!!!

I have swapped to Outlook, cost a little but far better for safety.

I download an extension from the Mozilla download site; I have tried 3 different ones so far. I select "Install Addon from file...". The result is ALWAYS "This addon cannot be installed because it appears to be corrupt."

What am I missing?

I am trying to create an HTML signature block. I need to add an image to my signature. In the Help for adding signatures, it says to use the menu item 'Insert > Image'. I cannot find any such menu item.

The version of my Thunderbird is 91.9.1

Please indicate where I can find this function.

I've been using Thunderbird for 3 years now and the subscribe function has been working flawlessly. Today (16/04) however all the folders I unsubscribed to are now being shown and I can't seem to unsubscribe to them.

When I right click my IMAP email, click Subscribe and uncheck the folders I don't want nothing happens.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

My text defaults to 'paragraph' giving me double spacing when I type several lines of type. When I switch over to 'body text' it doesn't stick. It reverts back automatically to 'paragraph'. I have opened preferences and turned off 'paragraph', but again it just reverts back to 'paragraph'

A very old HTML signature block with my former company name is occasionally applied to outgoing emails instead of the default specified in Thunderbird

How can I find and delete it?

FWIW, I went to Tools | Account and I find the current proper signature block is there. So I don't know where Thunderbird is dredging up the old signature block from.

I do have the Signature Switch plugin activated, but I've made sure that old signature block isn't in there.

Any help will be appreciated: this is embarrassing when it happens and I send the email without noticing the bad signature.

Right now, the messages in my threads pane show up in colors associated with their tags. This isn't a functionality I need and it makes it difficult for me to read a lot of the messages. I just want messages to show up in a single color -- black (or white on black would be great, but I don't know how to set a dark mode if one exists). I suppose even better would be the ability to have certain tags affect color and other not.

Any easy way of doing any of this?

I did the switch to OAUTH2 for both POP and SMTP. I deleted the passwords, dumped the cookie cache, accept cookies from sites (always on 3rd party; keep until I close thunderbird), added an exception for https://accounts.google.com , then closed and started a fresh session of Thunderbird (currently on version 91.9.1 - the latest in my Ubuntu repos).

When I start Thunderbird, it asks for the user/password and then it downloads new messages. Great.

Except every few minutes, it asks me to re-authenticate for /every/ gmail account. Grrr....

Per the below comment, it seems that Thunderbird is supposed to save the password... but it doesn't. I still have passwords for all the non-google accounts, but I dumped all the gmail passwords per the many many instructions I've found. There's also nothing from google in the cookies (however, I've gone to other sites like the Thunderbird addons and those cookies do show up in the list). https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1375538#answer-1501083

I found someone saying that web servers might be a problem, I have no webservers installed on this system and nothing is listening to ports 80 or 443.

How do I get gmail to stop pestering me every few minutes for my user/pass and force Thunderbird to save the OAUTH2 token?

Hi,

I have set the task bar badge to display the number of unread emails. Unfortunately, this only works for emails in the inbox. Emails in other folders are collectively ignored.

Doing some research it seems that this has been an issue since this feature was introduced. Would be great to have it addressed. :) Or is there any other way to solve this?
