Hi,

So in the "old" Firefox on android there was a possibility to have links opened in the background. This was removed with the overhaul update and I have been missing it ever since.

Right now I'm using pocket to have the links opened in the background but pocket outright sucks, it never shows the whole proper article and reddit pages are not shown properly either, it even makes those pages unreadable and its not showing the comments.

So to this point I am about to ditch pocket again. But I want to know if Firefox will bring back the background opening or did it purposely removed it so people would use pocket more?

If Firefox is sadly not bringing it back, I do believe Firefox is no longer my go to option and sadly forced to look for a browser that still have the background option.

Please let me know if Firefox will bring this feature back in the near future or not.

Hey, i have accidentally deleted my browsing data and most importantly all my open tabs from my android, is there any chance i can restore it?

When I close tabs on my Android (not all tabs but usually a few) sometimes I'll open the app later and find the tabs have returned, is there anyway to make the tabs stay closed? Sometimes I'll close like 10 then find them randomly back next time I use Firefox

Is there Andy was to geht back the tab bar? I do not want to use Chrome but the last changes in mobile Firfox are annoying! Not only the tab bar is missing, the new look (theme) is aweful too.

Say I have 50 tabs open and I accidentally close the bottom tab and hit "Undo" in the popup. Instead of placing the tab back into the spot it was previously in the list, it is placed at the very top of the list so I have to scroll way up to the top to open it. This wouldn't be the end of the world but you also can't rearrange tabs....

I'm on android nightly 94. Some recent changes started grouping tabs in two different way, both of which have degraded my experience in the app.

The first is grouping inactive tabs, I have Firefox set to not automatically close inactive tabs but I'm still kind of paranoid Firefox is going to close them anyway. Even if it won't, then it's just hiding them from view and makes me forget about them. I would rather they got some kind of icon or label instead.

The second is the very new search term labeling. This isn't a bad idea, but in practice it's absolutely miserable. My search terms are full to the brim with typos that google gracefully handles but firefox just leaves as incoherent labels on my tabs that makes no sense. Plus I will frequently reuse an open tab for a new search, meaning the label is completely irrelevant to what's now in the tab. The worst part is that the vast majority of my tabs are in a group labelled "other", meaning this feature just poinlessly segregates a handful of tabs and pulls them all the way to the top of the list. When it does decide a tab gets a label, that also means they're no longer in recently created order, so I have no sense of static positioning in the tab list. Plus it makes the tab list way longer overall.

Attached is a screenshot exhibiting my inability to type accurately on a phone keyboard and the search labels inability to correctly match the contents of a tab.

All in all, I think these features a huge downgrade in terms of usability, I have a short term memory disorder and I know it makes things much harder on me. I would like to be able to disable them somehow, but I can't find any toggles or anything anywhere.

Hi I just wanted to know how much longer we have to wait before we can access TOP SITES without having to create a new TAB?

You might know that, when we open links from Twitter, we get a small button/option called tweet. But in Android version of the browser the option is so small, and compressed that it looks ugly. Please fix this! I have attached the screenshot of the issue.

Why can't I automatically close tabs after I close firefox or automatically refresh every time I log in? Closing after one day isn't the best option because the tabs don't refresh themselves automatically and I end up having to close them manually to refresh them wich is kinda troublesome. Please assist.

Good morning, I am writing this post because I am rather fed up with the behavior of Firefox on Android when pressing the back button. Whenever I press the back button on my device to return to FF's standard homepage, what actually happens is that the current tab goes in the background and a new blank home tab is opened instead. This ends up in having to manually close tabs to avoid them piling up in the background. Is there any custom settings to avoid this? It is REALLY annoying. I know I can tell FF to automatically close tabs after a while, but this is just a bad patch and not the solution to the problem. By the way, old FF did not behave this way before last year's major update, and I've been waiting for at least a year for this problem to be fixed. For example, you have like 50 tabs in your Android phone and only 5 are active, the other 45 are inactive tabs that you want to keep just there for quick switching.

The problem is, when you want to switch from an active tab to another active tab, the tabs list/grid view always started from bottom of the inactive tabs list. Meaning you have to scroll up all the way to active tabs list. Another way without having to roll is to rotate your phone between potrait to landscape or vice versa while in tabs list view. This will skip back to the top of active tabs list.

Previously, tabs list when opened always started by showing the tabs you are on at start (sort like when you click #name on hyperlink).

There is a design flaw in a recent update of firefox for android. When I am trying to close tabs quickly from the bottom, the "tab closed, undo" button is now positioned directly over the X mark on the next tab to close the next one and I have to wait until it goes away to close the next tab. This is extremely frustrating and I am hoping this is fixed soon. It is taking 3 times as long to close my tabs in the order I would like to. The button just needs to be very slightly thinner and the X mark for the next tab will not be blocked anymore.

I ALSO WANT TO ADD THAT I STILL CANNOT REORDER MY TABS ON ANDROID AND IT IS DRIVING ME INSANE. PLEASE FIX!!!!

I often have to cross-reference websites and web pages, occasionally keeping a tab up as a "note to self" for later. While I quite often use Firefox's bookmark feature, not all of my research or gaming tabs are something I plan to need in a day's or week's time. Right now I have over 40 tabs up. I go through my tabs multiple times a day, to see which ones I can go without. When Firefox updated, it changed the tabs on Android to screencaps with no text labels, and thus because several of my cross-references are often from the same websites, it is impossible to tell my tabs apart, without visiting every single one. As screencaps, the tabs also take up more room than in list form, meaning I have to scroll up and down several pages, clicking on similar pictures until I find the right tab. This has made both my scientific research, as well as my game experiences, a lot harder, and the only advice for it that I could find, was a suggestion to install previous versions of Firefox, after all the possible vulnerabilities have been announced in each update. All I want are my tabs back. Also for some reason, this page deletes all text, after two sentences, so I had to type all this in a text program.

since this new firefox with the feature to "auto vlose tabs" came the first thibg it did wss close ALL my tabs even though i never tokd it to, now any time im not on fire fox on my phone it just closes the tabs do in finfibg it pointless to use any more, is there a fix or a way to i dont know revert to a older less self aware fire fox ?
