I am migrating to a new phone. WhatsApp offered firefox as an option for storing its passkey. That took me to the connection and synchronisation process which the new phone said had failed. However all my tabs and other passwords appear to be syncing. Now selecting firefox to store the WhatsApp passkey takes me back to the failure page every time. Any idea how to restart the passkey addition to firefox process? WhatsApp won't work whilst I'm hung up in limbo between the two apps.

As of yesterday (1st Nov 2023), Firefox started reporting "Proxy Server Refused Connection" when trying to browse websites over Wifi.

I have a proxy server configured in my phone wifi settings, and this has worked before, and still works in other apps (Chrome, etc)

Checking with tcpdump on the proxy server itself, I see my phone trying to connect to port 80, rather than the configured port (8000)

Firefox version: 119.0.1 Phone: Samsung Galaxy S22 Android version: 13

Hi all. I recently tried to access an instrument company's webpage, and Firefox stopped me. I thought it was just doing the "overprotective" thing, since there's been times it's done it to perfectly fine sites that i go to all the time. I got a weird notification about it being a porn virus, and closed the window. Ever since, i keep getting these notifications, all of them the same as the first. They're all coming from Firefox, and they're all spammy-- i don't even *have* Norton.

I've scanned with the antivirus app i *do* have, i've cleared Firefox's cache, i've restarted my phone. I'm not sure what else to do, since i've never had this happen before. I've used the desktop version for over 10 years, and never had anything similar to this happen.

Thank you for your help!

My name is Rebecca Soto, I am being harassed by Google and/or government. IThey interfere with my interactions on the internet on Iany network or any devise while I use your private browsing. I have used your services like Firefox for years because I believe in your privacy policy. My advances to change my bank password online are useless, as soon as I fill out the information the web page I click submit and they redirect me to the previous page where it is blank again while I'm on incognito on Firefox. One simple password reset that takes 1 minute becomes a whole afternoon of loss and frustration. All because I wanted to report a concern about the drinking water in my area might have been contaminated. I believe in freedom of speech and the right to use the web privately. These people interfere with the settings on incognito mode and save my history. Use my private information on Facebook messenger , all on your private browsing Firefox app, inappropriately to influence my husband to leave me which they have accomplished. I am extremely insulted to be an American citizen today. We are suppose to respect the constitutional rights of all United States citizens and I can not understand why they chose to harass me? Honestly I believe this is a hate crime because I am Hispanic and Apache Natiive American Indian. I mean I hate to remind you that your company also runs the risk of a lawsuit that can impact this company for someone else's ignorance? This is why I am contacting you to please give my situation some attention and to take this serious. I have tons of screenshots and cell phone that have been disabled different devices connected to my Gmail. Just tons of hard evidenceas where my previous employer was sending me to a remote locations in Caldwell where I was monitored by recording video cameras in side the home. This is a big deal here and I would like your support for this matter because my entegrety will not allow me to submit to this abuse. Thank you for your attention you can reach me at [telephone number] or my email is [email address].

I recently logged into the WIFI of my TAFE, which uses a proxy, only to find that Firefox would not work. 1 hour of crazed searching later I have found that you pretty much *cannot use a proxy with Firefox on Android*.

Sure technically you can download the FoxyProxy add-on or go to about:config and change the settings there (but not on the stable build which y'know most people use) but the fact that the stock, stable install has *zero* support for proxies, which are extremely common on school/work networks, is absolutely unacceptable. This is *basic* functionality that was reported as missing as far back as 10 years ago and *nothing* has been done to fix this.

The worst part is Mozilla are clearly aware of this. An issue was opened on github and was only closed to be moved over to bugzilla where it remains open. And for some reason on bugzilla the severity is marked as N/A even though this literally means you cannot use Firefox Android on any network with a proxy

I apologize for the harsh and direct tone but I am truly astonished that no one seems to think that this is as severe as it actually is. I use Firefox because I love open source software and I hate the idea of google having a monopoly over browsers. Things like this where basic features are missing (resulting in the browser being completely unusable on certain networks) make me reconsider if this browser is even worth using. And please don't say that FoxyProxy solves all of this because the fact that basic functionality is locked behind a third party extension is unacceptable.
