This appears to be a problem that others have had (with no response). I'm posting it to let the Mozilla team know it continues to be a problem for some users.

Yesterday FF (whatever the latest version is running on an iPad Pro running iPadOS 15.7) crashed, and restarted with the usual "This is embarrassing..." message, and asked whether I want to restore all tabs. I hit yes, and it restarted with all tabs missing. Of course it then proceeded to erase all synced tabs the next time it connects to Mozilla's servers, so now all the tabs are gone.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to restore this to its previous state? As far as I can tell, the moment the mobile FF loses all its tabs and syncs them to the cloud, there's no easy way for the user to get the old tabs back.

2. Is it possible to have Sync set up so it doesn't erase all the tabs automatically? I mean, it should be clear that when this occurs after a crash, this may not be the desired behavior. At the very least, there should be an option to undo.

3. Is there a way to just "bookmark all tabs" on mobile FF? That way users can easily save the current state of their mobile browser without having to bookmark each tab individually. I understand this feature has been requested from time to time, and at some point saw a response from a Mozilla engineer saying it has been implemented but not released for UI reasons.

4. Can I download all my Firefox Sync data? Since Sync seems to write over previous state with no method for recovery, it cannot be relied upon as a backup. I would like to be able to make my own backups of my browser states to the extent I can.

Thanks! In principle I support open source and would like to continue using FF. If these usability / reliability issues can be resolved I think it would make at least a few FF users quite happy.

Dear Mozilla Team,

during the recent weeks I was away from my main PC and primarily used my iphone to browse the web. Every now and then I sent a link to the PC using Safari's share and the integrated send to function of Firefox for iOS. This usually worked really well, even when my PC was powered off. When I got back home and started my PC, sync would take forever, but was then interupted and all further tries to sync (hoping to get those tabs eventually) failed.

My question is if there is a log file of all those links that are sent to different devices? I believe there has to be one given that Mozilla's servers are being used and tabs (usually) arrive on powered-off devices following a request to the server.

If there is, please tell me how to access it/send it to me. If there is not, please take this as a feature request (a sent links history being gathered locally as part of the wider Firefox profile maybe and as a viewable list of all shared tabs for all devices so that tabs can still be sent to single devices but also accessed from others, similar to how tabs can be accessed from all synced devices).

New iPhone 14 pro - Moved everything over from the old phone - Signed into Firefox and synced - All bookmarks are present - The option to use saved login information from FF is present - The websites where I have saved logins are all present and listed in the same order as my desktop (desktop version works fine btw)

The problem is that the usernames and passwords are not present for any of the websites. They are just blank when I try to use it directly from a login screen. (pic#1) I can select the website from the list and FF recognizes and recommends the correct website’s “info”, but when I tap it it just autofills blanks.

If I access passwords from the menu options while I am not trying to login to a specific website, I can see the same correct list of websites with saved info, but it says “no username” for all of them and the passwords are blank. (pic#2&3)

I know that I have seen tons of forums already regarding this issue. However, I still don't understand the reason for me being unable to sync my logins and passwords to my smartphone device via the desktop version of Firefox Browser I have. I switch to this browser from Chrome because of the AdBlock, but I still don't understand how it is so much easier and simpler with them to sync while here I am having a hard time to get all logins and passwords to be available on all of my devices.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox on iOS and Firefox on Mac and reinstalling them in a different order. But regardless of what I do, the logins that are on my Mac do not sync to my phone. I have about 850 logins on my Mac, and even after I do a manual sync, it still says "No logins found" on my phone. Items like bookmarks and open tabs sync fine.

Neither using the QR code option or the email option work. Both result in a white screen.

By using the iPhone's camera to scan the QR code (instead of using Firefox) I can see that the QR code is point to https://mzl.la/MYCODE. This URL in turn is redirecting to https://app.adjust.com/somecode?campaign=firefox-desktop&adgroup=firefoxview&creative=CODE-123. Opening this URL in Safari gives me a white page with a "Download App" button to download Firefox (which I already have installed).

My Firefox account has the setting "Allow ⁨Firefox Accounts⁩ to send technical and interaction data to ⁨Mozilla⁩." set to off. So probably none of this tracking should occur.

In any case, I went to Firefox settings and turned on "Allow Cross-Website Tracking". I also went to Safari settings and turned off "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking", "Privacy Preserving Ad Measurement" and turned "Content Blockers".

Then I tried syncing again. The result was the same white page as before.

Why when I signed in to Firefox on my iPad, the home page for Firefox is not synchronised to be the same as that on my laptop? Why does Firefox make thing so difficult? If I send tab to my ipad (ios v12.5.5) from my PC (win 10), it wont arrive on my ipad. I can send tabs from my ipad to my PC or iphone and all work fine. PC to iphone (ios 15.5) or iphone to ipad, again all work. It's only PC to iPad. In fact, I send tabs back & forth from 2 laptops, 2 PCs & iphone and all work fine just PC to ipad

I have notifications on, have signed out of all devices & signed back in, removed devices from sync and re-entered, I have deleted Firefox on ipad and PC, cleared cache & cookies on ipad &PC, still the same issue.

Is it an ios 12.5 issue which is the latest version I can install?

I've tried the solutions [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1277109|here] here and [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1287819|here] here multiple times, but tabs still do not arrive at FF on any of my synced iOS devices. However, I can see all the open tabs on the other devices.

This used to work, although it has been inconsistent and I've found in the past that I've had to log out and back in on my devices to get it working again. This isn't working this time, though. Any help is appreciated.

I use FF for Windows, Linux, and iOS. I recently reinstalled Firefox on everything and removed and re-added those devices to sync. I use *Send Tab to Device* a _lot_ and I thought refreshing like this would help things run smoothly, but now tabs are never received on my iOS devices. I can send tabs from iOS to Windows and Linux no problem, but I can't receive them. Is anyone else having this problem?

I recently switched to Firefox from Chrome. I have been using Chrome for years and have lots of bookmarks and passwords and such that I want to transfer over. The thing is, I do not typically use a desktop; I use my iOS mobile devices. Is there a way to transfer my bookmarks in the app? Or am I required to use a desktop to complete this?

I had to reinstall Firefox for iOS on my iPad because of a major glitch. In the process, it deleted all my bookmarks. The bookmarks are still present on my iPhone, and I want to sync them all back to my iPad. To do so, I need to sign in with my iPhone. However, my concern is that the iPad will sync to the iPhone and erase all those bookmarks because it is the newer download. How do I make sure the sync goes from my iPhone to my iPad and not the other way around?

Why is it necessary to authenticate Lockwise frequently on my 2 IOS devices? A dozen times in May and 6 times this month. It happens right when I need to use the app and this activity is delayed by having to authenticate and re-synch. Is something wrong or is this a "feature".

Thanks,

David
