Hi

The Arabic font broken on Facebook after reinstalling snap version of Firefox 107 on Ubuntu 22.04 given that the font on YouTube search look fine (but not on Facebook). I tried to reinstall Firefox in multiple ways like using the deb version reinstalling the snap one removing the .cache folder and logging out of the session and even rebooting my PC.

Why is my firefox is broken?

what is the solution ? it would be really appreciated

HELLO very small cursor on Firefox windows (on all other windows the cursor size is normal) via snap after upgrading to ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS. how can i change it? Thank you

When I use the import feature on the bookmarks bar Firefox doesn't detect the Chrome browser. I get the following message: "No programs that contain bookmarks, history or password data could be found."

When browning some site will cause a Firefox to freeze, all UI stops working, if I try and reload the page nothing will load and if I try and close and reopen Firefox I get a zombie process that last for about a minute. Obviously this is with no ad dons or hardware acceleration and nothing is listed at about:crashes. The only useful tip I have comes from the command prompt. Noticed yesterday but not as prominent, firefox suddenly steals all window focus, trying to do anything in any other window is pushed into firefox no matter if it is minimised or in another workspace. I have tested this in a clean install along with a clean profile. Bitwarden and other windows seem to act weird when they are interacted with.

This all works well and good on b8 and stable. I am using wayland (Ubuntu 22.* default), but xwayland is available.

Zorin16-Linux version 99.0 Ubuntu Canonical 1.0, -found in Help/About. Firefox recognition of version below says 91.0. Also have Linux Mint 19.3 (Tricia). Computer 15YO Dell Dimension 900.

I've had no problems with Linux Firefox for many years. I do not use any other Non-Linux OSes. Linux Mint updates Firefox regularly and so do I in that OS. I'm currently in a free version of Zorin which doesn't seem to push out updates, so my Zorin Firefox may be sadly out of date.

At any rate, today in Zorin, when I went to several of the bigger online sales platforms, they refused to accept my Firefox and suggested Chrome, Opera, and Safari; Target suggested Firefox.

Went to Mozilla to try and upgrade, but it didn't offer the Linux browser automatically when it read my computer. I was only offered the Windows browser. This may be because the computer is an old Dell Windows machine that I converted to Linux or it may not. I've never had this happen before.

Yesterday in Linux Mint, in which Firefox is upgraded at least weekly, the same thing happened once with a big online retailer. They said my browser was outdated and unsafe.

What's going on? I'm wondering if Linux OSes are simply not being accepted when the big retailers are doing software upgrades, or is something going on with Firefox?

I use Firefox to download, copy, and store WikiSpecies pictures.

Currently, my .../Documents/WikiSpecies/Animalia_Plantae_8 directory holds what it says are 90,876 items, totalling 11.5 GB. I have plenty of unused space in that directory (over 91 GB), so space is not an issue.

Lately, when I try to install a new picture, I keep getting a warning that the picture is already stored. This MAY be because I am running out of new pictures, but I can't tell.

Is there any capacity limit to a WikiSpecies directory?

Hello, I was trying to fix this issue on my browser but I was not able to do it. The OS is Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS 64-bit. Currently, I'm using Firefox version 99.0a1 but I had the same issue on version 97. Also, I have this issue on only one of my PCs. As I said in the subject: - The browser freezes the whole PC and I have to force reboot it. (I already disabled the hardware acceleration) - the recent download item open button does not trigger the opening of the folder. - If I try to download a file, the browser ask me where to save it. But if I try to download another one the browser shows me the directory with path /run/usr/1000/... I tried to delete places.sqlite but I received the same result. ... Hi, I've been struggling with this for months and can't find an easy solution or a good explanation. I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 pretty basic, I don't have many custom repositories enabled or anything, just a few additional packages like slack, Teams or Chrome. Ubuntu switched Firefox to snaps as well, and I can't get internet access with it. The error message is:

Simply stopping (and aa-teardown) doesn't work at all, Firefox doesn't even start without apparmor running. I'm not an expert with apparmor, but I wanted to set in complain mode instead enforce, but I'm struggling with that, too. I didn't touch the /etc/hosts file, the error message is a little different on another Ubuntu 22.04 computer I use, there it complains about permission denied for the resolve.conf. So I'm asking the community, how do you deal with this? Searching the web gives me all kinds of ideas, but none of them work. Could anyone help me out here?

On my main laptop I built a nice homepage with shortcuts that I use regularly. I would like this exact homepage on all the devices where I sign in with my Firefox account. Instead, every time I sign into a new device and sync, my homepage is completely destroyed and scrambled on all devices, including my main laptop and I have to painstakingly recreate the homepage I want. What is going wrong here? How can I set up one homepage on one device that will be synced to all other devices?

Hi all, I'm having a lot of problems with Firefox crashing pretty often. Sometimes once or twice a day.

I most often see crashes in the middle of a Webex video conference for work. But Firefox sometimes goes down in other situations that I see no pattern in.

This is Ubuntu 20.04, Firefox 102.0. Unfortunately, it's a complex environment to debug.

First, when firefox goes down, it rarely leaves a crash report behind. So I'm not getting any direct evidence as to what is happening. Second, I run with uBlock active and it is very difficult to function in the browser without long enough for the crash to happen. Third, I typically have several hundred tabs open. I have a lot of memory (64G) in my machine, and the machine doesn't act like it's swapping, so I don't think I'm running out of memory.

Any help getting to the bottom of what's going on is welcome.

So, it looks like snapd went ahead and updated my Firefox.... Grrrrr

Now I'm unable to access my profile information. (passwords, tabs, extensions, history, etc)

When I try, I get a pop-up telling me that using an older version if Firefox can lead to profile data corruption. However, I'm trying to use FF version 109.0.1 (64-bit), which should be very new.

How can I get my profile data back?

Using either the SNAP or .deb versions of Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04 I am running into issues attaching files on remote systems. I can browse to mounted network drives and select files but when clicking open nothing is attached in any of my online email accounts. This also applies to the open dialog box. I have tried using the KDE File Picker as well as the GTK one but they both fail. This is not an issue for LibreOffice or other programs and greatly impacts the usefulness of Firefox.

Hey! I can't Download any photo from right-click and => Save file as... When I press "Save file as..." there's no ant event or something, It's like Button but with out any action.

Hi, Downloading files to a system directory (Linux) such as /home/me/doc/here /home/me/doc/there Have Ask me where to save files checked.

But lastDir is not a real directory I can navigate, such as /run/user/1000/doc/3dcccd48

This causes the user needs to navigate sometimes very long system directory tree for each successive file download.

In about:config I set:

 browser.download.lastDir 
 browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite	false	
 browser.open.lastDir

But every time these are obfuscated to something like: /run/user/1000/doc/3dcccd48

This introduces about 10 user interactions with mouse/keyboard for each file I download in succession.

How do I get FF to stop obfuscating real system directories for "lastDir"

The Subject says it. I have this line "Your browser is being managed by your organization." in Config under Sync. I am a private user so there is no organization. I want to get rid of this.

I'm trying to troubleshoot why Google Chat will not sound an audible alert while Google Mail does. I can't find any settings that would affect this so naturally I suspect this organization line.

I'm using the Mozilla .deb and not the Ubuntu snap.

Ubuntu crashes while moving around a Firefox tab with a mouse, IF the mouse cursor goes thru the top bar of the laptop screen. I am using Firefox V 113.0.2, Build ID: 20230522193126 on Ubuntu 23.04. This could be an Ubuntu problem or a Firefox problem.

Operating System Ubuntu 20.04.4LTS on AMD® Ryzen 3 pro 3200g 64bit processor. Firefox Web Browser version 100.0.2 (64-bit)

The method I can reproduce sound distortion:

I have clear sound playback through both system HDMI speakers or if earphones are plugged in, verified using the Ubuntu Sound Output test left/right (without distortion)

Then if I open a normal Firefox window and listen to YouTube video for example I have no distortion, if I however open I private window, say to access training material on Microchip University site I suddenly have distorted playback.

Please advise why private window opened suddenly distorts my output sound. Sound suspicious.

Youtube live streams work fine on windows, but they don't work at all under Linux. Firefox is up to date on both my operating systems that I dual-boot. Getting an NS_BINDING_ABORTED error in the network console. I deleted my profile to be sure it wasn't due to any extensions or settings I've changed, and the problem remains. The Linux itself is also a fresh installation, and I had to download a tgz version and remove the snap to get the latest, because Ubuntu was stuck at 99.
