Hi.

I need to print out my saved passwords. I have no cellphone to access, just my laptop and printer. I only use Firefox and no other browser. If my laptop gets hacked or breaks down, then I need to use someone else's computer to access my passwords in an emergency, and can't access my passwords to do so...so printing them out periodically is the smartest thing I can think of.

Help, anyone? This is pretty important to me. Thank you!

How can i hide my display/screen resolution from websites? I use Firefox in windowed mode not with my default screen size but websites know my default resolution. This can be used to identify my pc. I dont want that for privacy reasons like tracking and adverstising. How can i prevent this? I found many threads/posts about this in various forums/websites. They are talking about Tor Browser and that websites can identify you if using full-screen mode. But as i said, im using Firefox not Tor and while im using windowed-mode websites still know my default resoltion. I tested this on https://whoer.net/

Another question, how can i restore the default window size in Firefox?

My macbook is a 2019 16", running Monterey 12.3.1, and has the touch ID sensor on the top right of the keyboard. I love having it for all my log-ins, but can only make it work in Safari. When I look online I'm told to go into settings> privacy > and then just choose the toggle to turn it on. My version of Firefox (which says it's up to date) does not have that option in the Privacy and Security section of settings. Any thoughts? I'd rather use Firefox than Safari, but that is a HUGE feature to me. Thanks!

Hi Team,

I have set the proxy only at /etc/environment, but I do use proxy in only one specific user to run my azure cloud agent in order to use pipeline, however to be able to stablish the agent's connection to the azure's platform I "must" to open a firefox session and input manually the "Authentication Required - Mozilla Firefox" (The proxy moz-proxy), until that moment no problem at all. In a period of 60 minutes after I have rebooted the client my authentication is asked again, it looks like is a cycle, I really need to fix it. The great way is the authentication to remain such as autologin or something similar.

Could you please assist? I is impacting my project.

Thank you very much,

Every time I close Firefox, it logs out of all the sites I've logged into. I've already followed all the steps in the following archived post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1319622

It's getting really annoying to log in to all my stuff over and over. Is there another setting somewhere that's doing this? It's across all my desktop devices. (All browsers up-to-date).

I'm trying to make it so I can require a password to open firefox settings menu. I'm not talking about primary/master password settings for sites, I mean clicking settings from the upper right three bar requires a password.

I'm setting up a laptop for my daughter, and I don't want her to be able to fiddle with them, and all google will show is the master PW thing that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to do

Thanks in advance

I'm on firefox 90.0.1 on Mac OSX Big Sur 11.2.3. When I try to delete a site certificate that I have (that is about to expire), it appears deleted, but when I open the certificates page again it reappears. When I restart Firefox after deletion it reappears. When I delete cert9.db from my default profile after closing firefox, and then reopen, it still reappears. When I uninstall Firefox, delete the default profile folder from App Data and the Mozilla and Firefox folders from my caches, it still reappears (I also deleted the update folder).

I am doing sync between this mac, my phone, and another computer, but I ONLY have bookmarks, Add-ons, and history. Might the sync be also syncing my certificates?

Help/tips would be appreciated.

I don't know why, it is NOT Ancestry, as I can sign in to it on other browsers. I get this error message below.

Access Denied Error 21 What happened? This request was blocked by security rules. Your IP: 73.94.12.65 Incident ID: 6eae587fcef92d46

I have no idea what security rules, but I am working on a genealogy project and have never had a problem signing into Ancestry in multiple tabs before today. How do I fix this? Besides getting rid of Firefox, I mean. I have the same security extensions on this browser as I use on Vivaldi, Brave and Chrome - I avoid Chrome, but use Vivaldi and Brave regularly, along with Firefox.

I was surprised today to visit a site and notice the "permissions" icon appear at the left of the address bar, showing me that cross-site cookies were allowed for this site. I have Enhanced Tracking Protection set to "Strict", so obviously this was a worrying thing to happen.

Looking into it a bit further, it seems Firefox provides a backdoor for cross-site cookies: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/third-party-trackers?as=u&utm_source=inproduct#w_managing-cross-site-cookies

  • "While cross-site cookies from trackers are blocked in Firefox by default, a site may signal to the browser that it needs to use them for important functionality. In this case, Firefox will allow a third-party website to use cross-site cookies the first five times (or up to 1% of the number of unique sites you visit in a session, whichever is larger) without prompting you. After that, Firefox will prompt you to block these cookies. Without your consent, Firefox blocks these cookies from that point because a site requesting access that many times may be a tracker."

This is most definitely not what I want!

I want every cross-site cookie to be blocked by default, unless and until I explicitly approve it. Is there an about:config preference I can set to achieve this?

I play cards at cardzmania.com using Firefox. If I exit Firefox and reload it, cardzmania remembers exactly where I was. Formerly, I could stop this by clearing the cache files at c:/users/user_name/AppData/Local/Temp andc:/users/user_name/AppData/Local/Mozilla. This no longer works. Even if I use Privazer to clear temporary Internet files, cardzmania remembers me.

In short, Mozilla is storing user data in a file I can't find and empty.

This disturbs me.

I'm not terribly concerned about cardzmania taking over my computer for nefarious purposes or spying on me, but the inability to find and delete files that permit cardzmania to remember who I am means other programs could do the same.

Dear community, I have Firefox installed on Windows with serveral user profiles. I understand that firefox caches certain inormation in the Firefox/<profile name>/cache2 directories. I know, how to clear these directories. But there is also one cache2 directory next to the profile directories directly in the Firefox folder. This directory also contains several thousand files, which seem to be updated in a similar manner as the cache2 folders in the various profile directories. I would like to know, which information is stored in that "common" cache2 and how it can be cleared. Thanks

I asked this question some time back here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1362859 I'm asking again to reframe the question. The problem is - if my experience is a guide to the rest of the world - VTT files (which are used to caption HTML video) are no longer read/loaded by Firefox when it is viewing the HTML file locally (i.e. file://). On the web they are loaded as expected. Presumably there's a security setting somewhere in Firefox that now refuses to load the VTTs locally. Maybe under Help > More troubleshooting information there is a setting to change to fix that?

I use Firefox locally to review the HTML/CSS while creating web pages (Win7 & Win10). Upon browser update, Firefox stopped displaying mask of any image format (SVG or PNG).

I did solve this issue in 2020 by changing the settings. about:config > privacy.file_unique_origin changing: to 'false' > refresh tab. Yet, since October 2021, it's no longer helping. After a browser update, I don't see the images with a mask, see attachment. The mask images show OK when the HTML page is on the server, but codding requires a constant 'quick check,' and usually uploading to the server is a final step. Can anyone help?

I prepared a simple example page [https://artenergy.com/mask] with a download link. Thus one can open this file locally to see the issue.

Thank you!
