When I start typing URL's in Firefox, it will only ever suggest the URL so far as the top level domain. For instance, I frequently visit trakt.tv/dashboard. But when I type "tr" into the URL bar, Firefox only ever suggests trakt.tv - I have to manually press the forward arrow key and type in "/d" in order for it to autofill the rest. It doesn't matter how many time I type the full URL in or even the fact that I've deleted all history only visited trakt.tv/dashboard, Firefox will still only autofill trakt.tv

Is there some about:config setting I can change to make Firefox recognize and prioritize specific frequently visited URL's over just top level domains?

So I wanted to join Rally, but I am concerned about granting access to my passwords and logins to the Rally clients. If I create a new profile and sign in with my only Firefox account will Rally clients have access to my passwords and logins from other profiles?

I watch videos on dropout.tv which uses the Vimeo SDK as their player for the videos. After switching to Firefox, the video progress has consistently started from where I left off on Chrome. The site doesn't remember where I ended the video when I watch it on Firefox. I assume this has to do with the cookies, but I've manually added "dropout.tv" to the list of exceptions in Firefox settings so that that site is always allowed to store cookies.

Returning briefly to Chrome, the player immediately tracked my progress again, so the issue is definitely related to Firefox somehow.

When FF on my Windows 10 machine crashed FF asked if I wanted to refresh FF. I said yes, and FF reopened as usual with all my tabs. After I closed and reopened FF the next time, it reopened without any of my tabs. I then discovered that FF had unchecked the “Startup Open previous windows and tabs” box, which I had previously religiously monitored to be sure it was checked. So I lost all my previous tabs.

In my sessionstore-backups folder I found the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 as last in a list of three more recent file names. I then dropped the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 in the scrounger tool on this site: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html. It expanded in the big window, and when I clicked on Save uncompressed JSON as text, I see all the URLs run together in a text file.

How can I use this information to recover my tabs, please? If so, how? Or is there a better way to use the Scrounger – or another – tool?

Otherwise if I delete the three more recent file names in the list above the upgrade.jsonlz4-20 file, and restart FF will I recover the missing tabs? If so would I the check or uncheck the Startup Open previous windows and tabs box?

Lastly, can I restore my missing tabs using Windows’ “System restore” tool from 3 days before the crash?

Operating System Ubuntu 20.04.4LTS on AMD® Ryzen 3 pro 3200g 64bit processor. Firefox Web Browser version 100.0.2 (64-bit)

The method I can reproduce sound distortion:

I have clear sound playback through both system HDMI speakers or if earphones are plugged in, verified using the Ubuntu Sound Output test left/right (without distortion)

Then if I open a normal Firefox window and listen to YouTube video for example I have no distortion, if I however open I private window, say to access training material on Microchip University site I suddenly have distorted playback.

Please advise why private window opened suddenly distorts my output sound. Sound suspicious.

Since the Firefox 100 update, I have had issues with Firefox connecting to Google and its subdomains. When the browser is first started, all google domains work fine. After a few minutes though, a dialog at the top of G-mail (multiple accounts) appears stating it wants to re-connect, and will try and reconnect indefinitely with no success until the browser is closed and reopened. Also, calendar will stop working, and attempting to connect to any other google service (search, keep, drive, etc.) results in no DNS resolve, with sometimes the search bar URL changing to "about:blank." I have tried resetting the browser and re-installation (both at a user and administrative permission level) with no avail. Is this a known problem, or is it suspected there is another culprit here? It is worth noting that this is my company laptop, and that my coworker has also recently began running into this issue.

Hi, As it is, Firefox remember the primary password as long as the software is open and the computer not shut down. This is a very serious security risk! Firefox should forget the primary password after a certain period of time, even when running continuously. At least Firefox should forget the password after the session is suspended or locked. Could you please add this feature in your next release. Sincerely, -- Pierre

but in chrome, edge and opera connect successfully. first LED on, then preview is shown with no bug!

(first i check firefox, not connected, then check in chrome connected, NOTE: device is not busy with chrome when i check firefox, i am a web developer:) )

Our printers are added from a print server. FireFox is showing the full printer server path as the printer name. This is not good. Why is this happening? I have tried clearing the printer settings and re-adding the printers but this did not fix the issue.

i have re-install new windows and download fresh firefox and sign-in when i sync my account i didn't find any data (passwords , bookmarks , history , etc ... ) i found my firefox account as new

In the last few days, whenever I visit certain websites, the web page opens without problems however it seems to download an empty (0K) HTML file which is starting to clog my downloads folder with HTML files. Cannot seem to find any reason for it.

Hi, I need to update my credit card details for my monthly donation to Mozilla but I cn't find out how to do it. I can't find a way from my Firefox user account to do it. Clicking on the only link I can find to Donate just throws a 403 error. Clicking on a link to help for Mozilla Donate does the same thing. Please email me advise how I can do this. Thanks, Andrew

Hi So I had an old PC which somone wanted to use, I forgot that I was logged in on the fireforx browser so I deleted all the cookies, browser history and saved password, however forgot it was on my account so when I started using my PC today...passwords where not showing up and realised I deted them all and its now synced acoss all my devices...

Can I restore all the password?

When I watch a video, mostly in Netflix, and go to the fullscreen mode, I see a url line on the bottom left corner of my screen. It doesn't go away when I click the screen. When I try to click over it it switches to the right bottom corner, which I find quite frustrating. Whenever, this happens I should refresh the page and hope that it solves my problem and most of the times it does. However, I still would be quite happy if I figured out what caused this problem and if there is anything I can do it to fix it for good.

I use the Firefox sync feature between both my mac & Windows Machine. I had many bookmarks saved(since over a year). In the windows machine, the bookmarks folders were not that much required, so i deleted them there. . My bad, Unfortunately lost them on my Mac too. My Firefox account mail is : [edited email from public] @gmail.com . Please help me with restoring my bookmarks folders. Had many learning resources & useful resources in them.

I cannot disable google document viewer in Google Drive. Every time I go to open a recently downloaded PDFs in Google Drive, it invokes Document Viewer unless I specifically right click and tell it to open with Acrobat. I have disabled everything thing I know in both Chrome and Firefox, cleared the caches, rebooted, and the default behavior persists. Worse, the Document Viewer REQUIRES a complicated, infuriating sign in process that has only worked ONCE in dozens of sign in attempts. Please help with this.

I am using Firefox to interact with Babbel language software. I cannot get Firefox to allow me to use my standalone microphone. I tried all the Firefox recommended fixes, but I cannot make them work. I go to the "Microphone" permission setting. There is nothing listed there and it will "not" allow me to add the Babbel website? What do I need to do to allow my microphone to work with Babbel?

I cannot install English GB dictionary for my spell checker. When I click add dictionaries it takes me to a page where I can select Englsih GB as one of the dictionaries available in my locale. It then takes me to the info and remove page for the dictionary but there is no option to install and no pop up to start the download appears.

About a week ago, Firefox stopped updating the fonts on Canva art boards. I have attached a screen shot to show that the font name is correct (shown in the menu bar), but it is not reflected on the art board. The screenshot also has a popup of the image downloaded which shows the same font as in the menu bar.

I have used Canva in Firefox of years! I am now having to use Chrome and Edge. I would prefer Firefox. Please fix the problem.
