Firefox 115.3 kept crashing on opening. I tried Safe Mode, but that also just crashed straight away. I'm not aware of any changes that have been made that might trigger this. I've not changed any settings, or Add-Ons, or anything like that.

Even though I was supposed to be getting the latest updates, I was not informed of 116. So I have now downloaded and installed 116, and everything has disappeared. Bookmarks and settings, all gone.

I know they still exist, cos I can see them in Firefox 112 on my laptop. But on my desktop, it's like a virgin installation.

Help!!!!! Thanks for reading.

Hello all,

I've recently switched back from Chrome to Firefox, imported all passwords, bookmarks etc and off I go...

Only, I'm coming across more and more websites (about four so far) that don't have their logins transferred. The most recent and big one being Twitter, where there are two accounts saved on Chrome, but Firefox says it has none. I've tried all the usual, restarting both browsers and PC, checking there's no security I can find that locks those down (if there is I cannot find it) and the like. I'm on Windows 10 Pro, fully updated with latest patches on all browsers and Win10 itself.

Is this a security thing from those specific sites? Could it be a drastic change to the address fooling Firefox (and if so, why if I go back to Chrome do they load in fine?) or something I'm just not thinking of? I'm really hoping I don't have to keep going back to Chrome randomly to find a password when Firefox finds one it doesn't remember, kind of destroys the purpose of moving away from Google...

Thanks in advance!

I just bought a new laptop, and I can't figure out how to import my old bookmarks. I have them in an html file, but the import data option displays only the choice of importing from Edge (a horrible browser), not from file.

I can't even swear that I am seeing bookmarks. The bookmarks line at top is showing only the most recent (very old) searchs in Edge I also am not seeing the option to clear history on exit. What's wrong, and what can I do?

I am trying to install 32 version of Firefox on a VM running RHEL8.6.

I sourced the installer from https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/115.1.0esr/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-115.1.0esr.tar.bz2 here and i followed the installation instructions mentioned here .

After the installation is done, whenever I try to run Firefox, I get the following error

-bash: /usr/local/bin/firefox: No such file or directory

I checked the environment variable and it was et correctly.

Please let me know where I am going wrong.

Thank you.

I currently am running FF vers. 109.0.1 64 bit on Win 10 pro. I don't like what I've been reading about the latest update, my machines are old and I'm not ready to upgrade so I don't want an even more overloaded/uses up more CPU, etc., version of Firefox. I don't have complex needs in a browser, so some of the "upgrades" haven't been useful for me or have made using FF more difficult.

I found a list of what I guess are older versions but no information was provided on how to choose a version of say v. 110, to make sure it's the right one for my laptop and/desktop (or the one that will work w/the fewest problems) that it's in English, etc.
My impression is that FF is mostly worked on by people who have a variety of needs & interests so increasing sophistication is what they want and that's fine, I'd like to keep using FF w/my current machines, w/as simple a version ,ie., useful for an unsophisticated user. Is that possible? If so, I'd like to upgrade to 110 64 bit or perhaps 111 64 bit unless either or both had huge security holes, etc and many users found they weren't very functional. I do have security software.

After repeated falures to launch Firefox on my Windows 10 PC, I tried refreshing from uninstall process then several attempts to uninstall completely and downloading and installing again. After four attempts, all failures. I still cannot get an installation that works. No error message, nothing. Launching from taskbar icon or Start Menu all failures. Now uninstalled but would like to be able to use Firefox again. System is an HP SFF with i7 processor, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Version: 19045.3324, and 32 GB RAM.

Firefox code ought to be able to import data from an old Seamonkey or Firefox profile as well as data from other browsers such as Microsoft products. My Seamonkey profile isn't even old. I'm using the version compiled about a year ago because the two more recent ones crashed occasionally.

There presently doesn't seem to be any code in Firefox to import data. Supposedly there used to be. It's still needed or very desirable.

I don't have a question because it's pretty clearly not there. It's something for you to fix.

I was watching MSNBC on livenewsmag.com as usual and when I had to refresh, a Firefox screen said I had to update my browser in order to view content. An installer downloaded with a warning -- why is Firefox giving me a warning about its own file. And why is this happening with almost no further explanation of what to do.

I am unable to download files from links sent to me from various sources. I always get the message that the download failed. I use macOS Ventura 13.5, and ad blocking and antivirus software. I've reviewed previous suggestions on Firefox's website, but those suggestions I understand haven't corrected the problem. Any suggestions?

Each time Firefox forces me to update, when it comes back, it says it need me to input my Mac password to authorize the installation of a "Helper" tool. I do so but then Firefox will hang. I need to Force Quit it. If I cancel out of putting in my password, it won't start.

The only way to fix is to delete Firefox.app from Applications then download a new DMG and reinstall. I'm getting sick of having to do that every time. I've been a Firefox user for well over a decade and don't want to move to Chrome or Safari but this is getting bad.

I don't even know what "Helper Tool" it wants to install. I use the Dashlane and Gmail Reverse Conversations as the only 2 Extensions I have in the browser.

Please help me figure out how I can avoid having to delete and download Firefox everytime I'm forced to update it.

Thanks.

While I was doing my banking I got an error message saying I was running an older version and needed to update my browser. When I updated to the latest version of Firefox all my bookmarks and passwords got dumped. All of them. I can't find a previous profile to reinstall anywhere or an option to install a previous version. How do I roll this back?

By the way: I AM NOT HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!!
