Firefox Settings/Help/About failed to show most recent version of Firefox. I downloaded and re-installed to get Version 122 but now I have two entries in Windows 10 App. One is dated 2022 (probably the original 32 bit version) and the other is dated today. Can I safely delete the older entry?

All of the files I try to download fail immediately. Even extensions will not download on firefox. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked the download location. Downloads work on other browsers such as Chrome fine but nothing will download on Firefox.

I have used FireFox for years Now I can not download VPN as it requiers W 10+ I can not afford new computer, I am a Disabled Viet Nam Vet/ A MARINE I dd not what all these new apps and maybe Windows is blocking download - HELP

I have been using firefox sync for a long time to migrate between PC to PC

My firefox sync profile is full of old stuff and I would like to clean up my settings by wiping out my firefox sync settings and starting fresh.

However, before doing that I wish to export all my data/settings/password/cookies/bookmarks and everything, so files on my computer.

Files that I can read in notepad and inspect. See which settings I have in there and decide which settings I want to put back in my new installation.

Unfortunately and worryingly, they have been removed from the firefox addon store

as for OPIE, I am unable to find explanation of what it was, where it went or who used it

I know that my profile is stored in

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4vdt083m.default-release

However the files and structure in that folder are inscrutable

I would like to have control over the settings of my browser, what they are, to save them and modify them on my own terms.

I would like to export about:config completely to a regular plain text file, edit them and import them back in.

Had to reformat and reinstall my Intel Mac with System 10.4.11. Can't download install dmg from the ftp site because my id and password don't get me into the FTP website.

I had posted my question yesterday and received a response from jscher2000. I sent a reply to the response by email a short while ago, but I wasn't sure it went through. Therefore, at the possible expense of having you receive the reply twice, I have recopied it here:

Thank you for trying to help me download Firefox onto my computer. As per your advice, I first tried shutting down and restarting my computer. That did not work. Then I went onto the link you sent me: https://www. mozilla,org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release . The installation began, but only got up to around 80 - 90%. It stopped at the point where it said Execute: "C:|Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\default-browser-agent.exe" register-task 308046B... (It looks like there might be some more letters and/or numbers after the "B", but I can't see what they are.) I waited a few more hours to see if the installation would continue, but it did not. I then went back to try downloading Firefox in the regular way. First I got a message, "Now installing. Firefox will be ready in just a few moments." Again, installation proceeded to around 80 - 90 %, and then I got a message, "Hmmm. For some reason, we could not install Firefox. Choose OK to start over." Starting over didn't help. After the automatic installation of the latest update to FireFox, I find I cannot load yahoo.com. I have tried all the suggestions for Hotmail. None of them work: no page loads. The page loads fine in Chrome.

How do I import the firefox passwords I saved as csv file from firefox into firefox. I am not importing from a different browser which is the only option offered. I'm importing from the newly created csv file as instructed by firefox.

I have been using Firefox for quite some time. Suddenly it stopped working on my computer, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I keep getting a message that there is a problem with the download and installation. Can anyone help? I tried moving the firefox profile from my old windows 10 laptop to my new windows 11 laptop but the migration wasn't successful.

I tried the below steps:

Clicked the firefox three bars at the top right corner of the browser->then the help button->then more troubleshooting information->then clicked the open folder button next to the profile folder->then copied the profile to an external USB ->then took this firefox profile and copied it to the existing firefox profile in the new windows 11 laptop via the same location.

However, the data: cookies, bookmarks & history from the prior firefox profile (windows 10) are missing once restarting up the firefox browser in the (windows 11)

Any ideas if there may be something I'm missing.

Hello -

I just upgraded Firefox on my Mac Mini M2 (2023) to version 124 (64 bit). When I start up Firefox it starts (I see Firefox in the top menu bar) but it will not open a session window. In addition, the top menu bar is in an inactive state (i.e. the words are in grey instead of black). It seems to be in a partially open state.

I have tried (1) waiting to see if that fixes things and (2) a cold boot of the computer. Both things did not work.

One of my machines has Windows 7 installed and uses Chrome browser. Recently I had a need to install Firefox. As soon as the install completed, all of my existing Google related shortcut icons changed to some generic type. No matter what I did I could not change the shortcut icons back to their original. I uninstalled Firefox and they all came back. Any suggestions?

I have been using Firefox for ages and never had a problem - love it - but now I see the remark: Firefox has ended support for Windows 8 and Vista on my screen at the right top corner. It also will no longer update my computer.

I do have and use Windows 10 - so I don't see what is the problem? I tried to refresh and that didn't work either.

Please help because I like to stay with Firefox but I do need to update and keep my computer secure.

I am not very computer savy so please tell me what to do in simple word.

I've copied the root profile folder from my old machine, created a new profile running Nightly, put the contents of old profile into just created one, and it just worked. Doing the exact same steps with Dev version doesn't work - app refuses to launch after picking imported profile as default one. Could it be because Dev has a lower app version?
