I have bought a new pc with Windows 11 home pre-installed and set Mozilla Firefox latest version as default browser ...the issue i am having is placing add-on extension shortcut icons on toolbar. I installed Norton Safe Web and this installed ok and is listed in extension control panel and when i click puzzle icon Norton Safe Web is not shown under manage shortcuts nor can i see option to Pin to Toolbar. Have tried several attempts but still get nowhere.I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox...restarted pc ... did a fresh install of Mozilla Firefox without altering any settings..re-installed Norton Safe Web and still cannot see option to Pin to Toolbar.Clicking the gear icon does not help Have i missed a step somewhere ?

Firefox does not print the right edge of web pages that are made in landscape mode.

I set FF to "Fit to page width" but it does not print the right edge. It's cut off.

And there is no Orientation option available. Not sure if that has any significance because it supposed to "Fit to page width" anyway.

What's the work around to fix this?

I have been a "light theme" user for 15+ years. Since updating to 96.0 today, a dark mode spreading across Firefox has been forced onto me, including:

• New tab background
• Background of any tab waiting to load a page
• Google/Youtube background
• Settings/add-ons/password menu backgrounds
• Automatic username/password drop-down background
• Background of the little box that appears on the bottom-left (the one which shows the URL when you mouse over a link)

I am unhappy with this and wish to have my usual theme back. Can anyone please assist?

(In addition, there is some sort of white border around the current tab, which I do not like)

I'm running 101.0.1 and spell check no longer works on any mail app like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, BT Mail. If I use Chrome or Edge then spell check works correctly. This is despite my Firefox Settings being as below.....

Language Choose the languages used to display menus, messages, and notifications from Firefox. ENGLISH GB Set Alternatives… ENGLISH GB Choose your preferred language for displaying pages. Choose… ENGLISH (United Kingdom) (en-gb) Check your spelling as you type = Tick (Yes)

Could you please advise a fix?

Hello, so I am not very experienced and recently discovered how to customize Fire Fox using the userChrome.css file. I went through all of the steps that are required in order to do this. I set up a folder called chrome in the directory /Users/my name/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/x1oheo82.default-release To test if it works I wrote this into the userChrome.css file: @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */

and set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true After restarting Fire Fox I saw that nothing changed. I double checked if there was a hidden file extension or if I might be in the wrong directory. I tried different code to see if there was some error in the code but nothing changed. I watched countless tutorials on You Tube and tried to find answers on google but nothing that I did seemed to help. I don't know if it has something to do with the operating system I am running or if it is a limitation of my computer hardware (I am running Fire Fox on an m1 mac).

Firefox 103 screws with website zooming if you use the "Make text bigger" accessibility setting in Windows. 150% for example now zooms in a lot more with the accessibility setting in Windows set to 120%.

How do I undo this change so that 150% is 150% and not bigger than 150%? I had all my frequented websites set up how I liked it and now this comes along and messes it all up >:V at the moment it seems like 120% Firefox + 120% Accessibility is similar to what 150% in Firefox was like but it's not exactly the same. I've now gotta go futz with zoom levels for each web page I frequent again to find what looks most comfortable for each one.

Also this change greatly modifies consistency when it comes to the granularity of zooming. For example, what is 100% zoom when Accessibility is set to 120% so that I can avoid filtered scaling being applied to pictures? Why is the in-browser percentage indication not accurate with the level of zooming actually being applied?

The zoom level I choose is no longer the zoom level applied, there is now a multiplier in effect. So 50% isn't 50% anymore, 60% isn't 60% anymore, 70% isn't 70% anymore, 80% isn't 80% anymore, 90% isn't 90% anymore, 100% isn't 100% anymore, 110% isn't 110% anymore, 120% isn't 120% anymore, 130% isn't 130% anymore, 140% isn't 140% anymore etc.

A website that looked good at 133% can no longer be viewed at 133% if the Accessibility setting isn't also 133%.

Not a fan of whoever decided to implement this seemingly without a way to turn it off.

The mute icon only shows on hover and takes up 50% of the tab size so I'm constantly accidentally muting tabs without realizing it and silencing video calls and the like. The top Google result for this issue -- rightfully yelled in all caps because this is an absolutely horrid UX -- says to set browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon to false, but that does absolutely nothing in FF 100.0

I use layout.frame_rate 1 to block animation, and to replace painful partial scrolling with clean jumps. I can't use an intermediate frame rate, such as 3-30 fps, due to the seizure risks, or a high frame rate, such as 60 fps, due to migraines when hit by "smooth" animation, "ease in-out" animation, zooming animation, parallax animation, partial scrolling with one part of the window sliding alongside another, etc.

about:config involves some other frame-rate and frame_rate settings;

gfx.display.frame-rate-divisor starts at 1

layers.offmainthreadcomposition.frame-rate starts at -1

layout.expose_high_rate_mode_from_refreshdriver starts at true

layout.frame_rate starts at 0, which defaults to monitor settings; I've reset it to 1 (1 frame per second).

layout.throttled_frame_rate starts at 1

What are these and what do they do? I've tried looking them up, and see a bunch of posts about browser diagnostics, or *increasing* frame rates, or the like.

Is there a way to remove recent bookmarks from the "hamburger menu" (says "Open Application Menu" on hovering)? The bookmarks there seem to only show the most recent bookmarks added and there's no way to organize those or delete them without also deleting the bookmarks from the main bookmarks menu, which can be organized. There should be a way to not show bookmarks that are private bookmarks just because they've recently been added. I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere in support -- though I might not have been searching the right terms. Any and all help would be much appreciated. (Also, apologies if I put this in the wrong category. Wasn't sure what to use.) Thanks!

The instructions for the Window Titler icon suggest to turn on the Title Bar (with the Firefox icon, usually shows title of active tab, but would presumably show the Window Title if one was assigned). I can't find how to turn it on in version 99.0.1. It's not where the instructions for Window Titler said to look (managing the Menu bar or the Bookmarks bar). Any suggestions?

Would love for this feature (named windows) to become a normal part of Firefox. I wouldn't mind having the Title Bar anyway; at the cost of a few pixels, I would have something to grab onto when moving windows around that wouldn't accidentally do something to a tab.

In my Firefox settings, I have PDF files set to "Open in Firefox".

When I click on a PDF file, Firefox DOES open the PDF in a new browser tab, but the PDF ALSO downloads to my desktop (both!). How can I stop it from downloading?

I'm using Firefox 112 on Windows 10. The toolbar contains icons for several extensions that I don't want to see. I click on the >> menu and then Customize Toolbar. That opens the Overflow Menu. It says, "Drag and drop items here to keep them within reach but out of your toolbar." I try to drag one of those extension icons onto the Overflow Menu. It won't go. The dragged icon picks up a circle with a line through it, indicating that this is not allowed or not working.

How can I use the Overflow Menu as advertised, to remove unwanted extension icons from the toolbar? Or is there a good workaround?

Before update when I clicked in PDF viewer toolbar download button it opened a screen to open with, right now it only download a file. I want it back. I have firefox as pdf viewer, but sometimes I need to open file with Acrobat DC, that's when I did click download button. It works on other computer like before, it is before firefox update.

Hi! I recently made the switch from Chrome to Firefox and Im liking it aside from this one thing. When Im watching a video in full screen, moving the cursor to the top doesnt pop up Macs top bar (File, Edit, ..... battery, time).

This sounds like a banality but I mainly watch videos while getting ready, working etc, and I really need to see the time! Im used to always keeping the cursor at the top to see it. I searched around in settings and forums but didnt find any fix. The only solution seems to be to not use full screen which I think we can all agree just sucks in a major way.

Im using MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 and Firefox 102.0.1. Is there a way to fix this or nah? Any info much appreciated!

I have Firefox 103.0.2 and have enabled the use of style sheets in about:config. I have a CSS style sheet userChrome.css that is giving me color at the top heading and in the tabs, except for the active tab (is white)

The whole top is solid color (same as Windows color, which is ok by me. However, it would also be nice if there were a dividing line or separation between the menu on top and the "tabs" below. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!! Vern

When I search "translate" into the address bar the first option is www.translate.com instead of just searching it on google (which is what I normally do). This happened after I searched the term and a little pop-up asked if I meant to go to the website instead. I accidentally clicked yes and do not know how to change it back. I would like to be able to type "translate" and have the google results show up first. Any help is greatly appreciated.
