My electronic certificates have disappeared from the firefox container: A few days ago my electronic certificates have disappeared from the firefox container The certificate provider has vetoed me from delivering a new certificate, because it is the second time Firefox has lost a certificate in 2020. The certificates I need for any management before the administration of Spain and more now with the COVID After it is granted, you have to verify your identity with the Tax Agency, and they have already called my attention for renewing the same year a certificate that firefox loses when it is updated. I'm very, very pissed off I will have to switch to Chrome

I refreshed my browser, and after refreshing it, my passwords and log-ins were NOT imported, and I can't even save the log in information manually. Never had this issue before, and I don't understand what I need to do. I have the "Old Firefox Data" on my desktop, but am totally confused about how to get that information into the refreshed browser. Not being able to re-enter the info, clicking "save", works. Help!

I am just wondering why FireFox occasionally becomes slow to load web pages. On these occasions, restarting Firefox fixes the problem immediately.

Example, I was just loading the same page repeatedly because of some work I am doing. After about 15 minutes of slow response times, I restarted FireFox and immediately, the page loaded very quickly as usual.

You can see the page where this was occurring at this url: https://legacy-systems.biz/demo/demo.html

Any information etc. would be appreciated immensely.

I installed the Duckduckgo extension and decided after a week that I didn't want to use it any longer. I disabled the extension and in Preferences/Search selected Google to once again be my default search engine. But, when I do a search, Duckduckgo comes up as the default, and when I look in Preferences/Search it again shows as the default. I went back into extensions and totally removed Duckduckgo, reset Google again as the default but it reverts to Duckduckgo. I went into One-Click Search Engines and removed Duckduckgo, but then when I try to select my default search engine there are no search engines from which to choose. I clicked on Restore Default Search Engines but then I'm back to Duckduckgo being the default search engine. I've spent hours searching online with no success. How do I get rid of it and get Google back as my default? I'm using Firefox 82.0 on an iMac running Catalina. I updated to 82.0 hoping that might solve the issue, but no luck.

I have searched and tried everything, but I cannot delete old bookmarks. I have tried to click on the blue bookmark star, delete from the edit tab, open all Bookmarks and try to right click and delete. Nothing happens, but I can add new bookmarks. The bookmarks window does not have an organize tab to manage the links that way either. Is there a glitch in the system for macbooks?

Firefox sync has not been working for me for some time, and I'd like to get it operational again. I'm trying to sync between a Mac Pro (FF 81.0.2), a MacBook Pro (FF 81.0.2) and an iPhone 6 (FF Daylight 29.0). Nothing whatsover syncs.

So far, I've updated all browsers, and re-paired the iPhone with the QR code. I've also logged out of my FF accounts at the same time on all devices, and back in again. (That's what's recommended at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-sync-troubleshooting-and-tips#w_i-set-up-firefox-sync-but-nothing-is-syncing, though that links to a page that is said to be out of date).

I can't see any obvious errors in the computer names, or anything else.

Any suggestion for further investigation, please?

Need help configuring Firefox exceptions for Cookies and Other site Data so sites like the NY Times can remember me so I don't have to log-in to them multiple times per day.

I've even deleted Firefox and started over, but that did not resolve the issue.

I need an expert in this to help me as I'm just not getting it...though I have tried many different configurations of FireFox's settings.

Thanks

TL;DR - I typed into my "search the web" bar on my start/default Firefox tab and was taken to Startpage.com - English. I never installed this.

Today, after checking email and finding several suspicious/scam emails (I NEVER click on links in emails) I was surprised to find that when I went to search for something using Firefox I was taken to Startpage.com - English (this is how it is listed in my preferences.

I have no idea how it was installed but I was surprised because of all the protections that Firefox offers.

Anyone had any experience with this?

Thank you,

I am creating a policies.json file to block all Add ons except ones specified specifically.

I have figured out how to do this for normal extensions, but I have run into issues when applying the same principle to themes. What am I doing wrong? Here is my sample code that works to allow the ublock add on, no problem, but it is not working to allow the matte-black-red theme:

{

 "policies": {
   "ExtensionSettings": {
     "*": {
       "blocked_install_message": "Error message to display",
       "install_sources": [
         "https://addons.mozilla.org/"
       ],
       "installation_mode": "blocked"
     },
     "uBlock0@raymondhill.net": {
       "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/ublock-origin/latest.xpi",
       "installation_mode": "allowed"
     },
     "{a7589411-c5f6-41cf-8bdc-f66527d9d930}.xpi": {
       "install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/matte-black-red/latest.xpi",
       "installation_mode": "allowed"
     }
   }
 }

I am NOT asking to remove content from the drop down - already done. I do not want the drop down to open - at all.

On a Mac the drop down interferes with the normal entry user interface. The normal text interface is: type to move to first/last character use the up/down arrow. The dropdown interferes with this standard behavior. The up/down arrow will not move the cursor to the first/last character in the url - until/ or unless the user hits <esc> to close the dropdown.

I have looked at the browser.urlbar preferences and do not see a setting that will change this behavior.

Is there a way to do this, so that url entry is doen entirely in the url bar - and not in the drop down. (and before this is discussed - I do Not want to have Any type ahead/lookup done on the urls entered, and have already disabled all of these options, so there is no need for the dropdown).

Thank you Mac OS X 10.13.6 FF 81.0

Just a suggestion on getting update content information.

I do not enable automatic updates in order to maintain personal update control and to generally wait a few days to allow any bugs in the update to shake out [e.g 81.0.2 to fix the Twitter bug in 81.0.1 -- No biggie, small bugs can crop-up in any update in spite of Mozilla's commendable quality control]. When manually checking Firefox "About" to look at update status, the pop-up shows the current installed version, with a link to "What's new?" [Great idea, thanks]. Unfortunately, there is not a "What's new?" link beside the box to download a new update, thus one must do an on-line search for the related Release Note to determine the urgency/relevancy of doing the update.

Adding an additional "What's new?" would be an appreciated change -- Thanks and be well.
