I see my original question is now archived at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1380948#question-reply I never closed it because I didn't know if my last process could really fix the issue. It didn't, not always. Over the years, there have been times when the issue would still pop up, but not as often as before (2022 and earlier).

I have a feeling that during an issue, FF is having difficulty setting up shop after starting up. Consequently, it is spending more time before it could become prepared to connect to the Net. I've come up with another "solution," which is deleting (or moving out) xulstore.json in the profile folder after exiting or before starting FF. You can create a batch command or script to execute the process.

So far, FF is connecting immediately after startup.

I have been getting the "new version available, download now nag for over 2 weeks, and I have the latest version. Still get this issue repeatedly every day. Starting to become an every hour nag to update and install latest version of Firefox. Refuse to use Microsoft Edge or Chrome, and will switch off Firefox too if not rectified.

Firefox decided to remove the total amount of homepage shortcuts. For months, it allowed for 4 rows and 8 columns, with blank "Add Shortcut" shortcuts. This allowed me to organize or split my shortcuts better. This morning, it decided to move all shortcuts together. As per the "Before" and "After" screenshots attached.

Usual disclaimers: Firefox 125.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10 No Config edits No extensions currently installed manipulate, affect or otherwise influence shortcuts

Please advise.

Every time I open a new tab, another extra tab opens automatically with the following address: https://0.0.0.1/

showing this message: An error occurred during a connection to 0.0.0.1.

I already re-installed Firefox but this bug keems popping up.

BTW: I did not do a d*** thing. It just started yesterday and is extremely annoying!

I was on a teams meeting because I wanted to do a study session with someone on another country. As part of the homework I needed to do, I needed to listen to some audio. I changed my windows audio devices to output through the Communications device for the headset. Then I played the audio on a tab. The audio played for a few seconds before stopping again.

I understand that this is behaviour intended to let you take a call or meeting without having to manually pause any open tabs you might not have at hand, but I would like Firefox to understand I really want that audio to play without thinking it knows better. Is there any way to disable this behavior?

This morning, I was unable to log into Discord to watch a livestream because my hard drive was overfull and it was unable to install a mandatory update. Because this was a time sensitive issue, I wiped a bunch of crap off my drive as fast as I could, and I guess somehow I deleted my browser bookmarks because the field now shows as empty when I open Firefox. I was able to track down the backup file, but it throws an error when I tell it to restore. Is there anything I can do about this?

Goodd day from UK I run firefox esr 115.9.1 and find the the F5 refresh key does NOT refresh the images. The same applies when using the "reload" icon in the menu.

Reading other posts, nothing seems to apply here.

There are NO add-ons at all and everything is cleared on close. The text DOES seem to change.

As a web developer checking updates this is extremely annoying as only hope is keep closing the browser (to clear everything) and restart - the loads new images etc.

I use several versions of Firefox (2, 20, 56) to ensure compatability with olf browsers and it seems to be only those over 100 with this issue.

Does anyone know if this is a "feature" or a"bug" and is there any simple (!) way around the issue?

If you entered the right address, you can:

   Try again later
   Check your network connection
   Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)

This is going to start out sounding like a Google problem, but please read the whole thing. I have a new Windows 11 Dell, and I normally run Firefox. When I wasn't able to attach a file to a gmail email I went to Google Account Help. It suggested that I delete cookies and cache, which I have now done several times. Now the problem is that I can't get to Gmail from Account Help. I have deleted everything that Firefox History will let me delete, and no matter how I try to get to it I cannot get to Gmail. It keeps me in Google Account Help.

Here's why I think I have a Firefox problem. In frustration I opened MS Edge. It let me get to Gmail, and it let me attach the file to my email. It seems to me that if I were having a Google problem, it wouldn't matter which browser I was in. As soon as it saw my email address it would put me in the same place. That's my reasoning anyway.

Hero Wars facebook game not loading in firefox browser and was working before and now not loading the games and games loading in all other browser like chrome and like using firefox browser

I've noticed lately that my Firefox keeps freezing and hanging up at random periods for no apparent reason. I have very few plugins and it even happens with them all disabled and removed. I've tried resetting Firefox to default everything yet it makes no difference.

Also I can not clear history. I've tried multiple different clear history plugins but none of them work at all. And when I try the traditional way of clearing Firefox history the window pops up and then the entire browser just freezes while 'clearing' and never gives me back control, I have to force quit and restart to regain control. And then when I relaunch the history is still not cleared!

So aside from the constant lagging and lockups it seems that any attempt to delete history whether using the inbuilt function or adding plugins messes up the whole browser.

Googling this issue it seems others are having the exact same problem with Firefox and yet any suggested solutions (reset browser) don't seem to be working for may of them.. Or me.

I am a bookkeeper and use QuickBooks Online (QBO)(AUS version) as my preferred accounting program, Intuit recommends using Chrome, but I had problems with that too, in that it has fields in QBO that will not work, I have switched to Firefox because it handles the 'black' look and the columns within the ledgers are more stable, however Firefox is constantly crashing it can recover most times to where I was, but it is most infuriating. Question is, is this a known problem and can it be fixed by changing the settings? Geoff Woodford

bold textWhen I click onto Firefox, it opens a tab that says Invalid URL. If I click onto the + next to it, it opens up into the firefox browser. What can I do about the original tab??
