I have a long-standing Firefox account under a primary email ("email1") with a secondary email (email2). I've gotten locked out. Firefox won't let me sign in under email2; it requires email1 for sign in.

For email1, I know the password but have set up two-factor authentication. I have my authentication device and authenticator app. But, perversely, there is no app entry for Firefox. I have Microsoft's app but I have used it only for Microsoft-related sites.

How the Devil I could have enabled 2-factor authentication but lost the Firefox entry for it in the app, I neither know nor understand.

I have access to both email1 and email2. I know all the answers to every secret question I've ever answered. I know everything about me there is to know. I am me after al.

Is there any information, any combination of facts, that might satisfy Firefox that I own my account and let me turnoff 2-factor authentication?

For example, I have both Chrome and Safari accounts set up with the same username and emails, and have access to them. My user name is absolutely unique across the internet. I guarantee that no one other than me has ever used it or could ever duplicate the scheme I used to create it. I have so many accounts set up under that username that it must be patently apparent that the one at Firefox in that username is mine. Perhaps that would satisfy Firefox that I own the same-configured account at Firefox.

Can I get the attention of a live person at Firefox, one that can reason independently, one that can recognize the obvious and certain fact that the account belongs to me?

What can i do? Please don't tell me nothing. I don't care about losing the data. I just want my email addresses freed up so I can open another account.

Firefox goes to a website. I use netstat at a command prompt and see a number of open connections for that website. I close Firefox and wait 10 seconds. I then run netstat again and the network connections for the website are still open. How do I configure Firefox to close network connections when I close the tab or when I exit Firefox?

Thank you,

Stan

I am using Windows 10 and trying to use Firefox to log on to a Foscam IP camera on my LAN using its IP address 192.168.1.146. Firefox changes this to https://192.168.1.146. The IP camera does not accept a log on using HTTPS - only HTTP. I cannot see why this has started happening today - it worked OK yesterday when I installed the IP camera. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop this problem happening, please?

Hi!

I'm using FF v86 on Pop_OS! (Ubuntu 20.10), as well as on Android, sync enabled. No credit cards are remembered/autosuggested.

Under my Privacy settings I can't find the Forms and Autofill section, at all.

Under about:config all the relevant settings seem to be on: https://i.imgur.com/tCw6ewJ.png

Not even sure how to proceed.

Maybe relevant info: I have an external PKCS11 extension managed by the governmental software for ID cards.

It is my understanding that in Private browsing mode, tabs aren't isolated from each other and all tabs share the same (in memory) cookie jar and thus, for instance, existing third-party cookies are possibly sent in the same private session.

Why multi-account-containers addon is not avaliable in PB when it can be beneficial?

I have ran three antivirus said PC is clean, scan disk defrag done. I went through all settings nothing I saw looked wrong. I don't know what is going on I just know these last 5 days have been pure hell. I cleared cookies and site information, and reset passwords and I even went to sites to see what they suggested. Nothing worked. I tried Private Mode too. and a different browser. I know a few sites do work password wise. But sites like the bank and the credit cards don't no matter what i do. I am so fed up I am about to order this windows 10 pro disk and reformat. This is a Dell computer and i wish I never bought this thing. It is a little over a year old. If I decide to buy another PC it's gonna be from scratch. I hate Dell as soon as all the perks expired I have done nothing but fix this thing.

Previous forum posts suggested using these URLs to access password management: chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xul and chrome://passwordmgr/content/passwordManager.xhtml but neither work on FF88.0b2 64bit on macOS 10.14.6

Thanks

Using Firefox on one system, it pops up the "dangerous and deceptive content" message on sites that are fine, like mine and a friend's, but on my other system, no warnings for the same sites. It doesn't do it for google.com or msn.com, and no one else gets the warning for the sames sites I am.

Other than turning off the security setting, is there a way to fix this problem? It wants to block me on many sites I've been going to for years.

Last night Firefox insisted that it be updated and so I allowed the update on my somewhat antiquated laptop. It's the laptop that my wife uses and because she's far from tech-friendly, things need to be simple and basic. She didn't want to update it because everything was fine for the limited browsing that she uses the laptop for but for the sake of doing as we're told, we let it happen.

When the laptop restarted and we went to open Firefox, a damned User Profile Box appeared - one that's got me scratching my head and cursing. What the hell is it? Choose User Profile Then inside the box; Create Profile Rename Profile Delete Profile She doesn't have a 'profile' - what the hell is it anyway? Why should we make this change - what's it in aid of?

Whatever, we opted to click on Rename Profile and found that the existing profile was 'User', so I renamed it with her name - and then started Firefox. A blank Firefox page appeared - with no favourites; no log-ins; no records - NOTHING. Preferences? NONE. What on earth has happened? She had a selection of physiotherapy exercises in her favourites - WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY? THEY WERE VITAL FOR HER HEALTH AND NOW THEY'RE GONE. Just what the hell is going on? Why do we need to go through all this - where have all her records gone?

Ok - I searched the internet for an answer. I then found a similar case from back in 2015 - and the member (because it was on this forum) came to the conclusion that it was best to use Chrome instead - and I reckon that's what my wife will have to do. If this change can't be undone and if her saved information can't be accessed (and EASILY - not via a string of convoluted instructions that neither she nor I will understand) then you've just lost another customer. Answers please - and simple ones, not a long guide through the mess that's inside Firefox.

So, I accidentally clicked a link that takes me to a site I have never logged into. Firefox prompts me with 3 userids. One is more or less a throwaway, but two are for sites I want to be secure.

I have disabled the form history in options. I have selected each item and tried either delete or shift-delete. None of these options work.

The site continues to present me with 3 userid options.

I hope this is not a major security threat since I am the only user on this computer and the site is one I have never visited, but it worries me nonetheless that I cannot remove the Firefox suggestions.
