When activating reading mode with a PDF file, the content of the file is not reproduced in the reading mode window. To see the full content, you must go to the end of the PDF file in normal mode before activating reading mode, see this implementation video : http://share.emmabuntus.org/Accessibility/Problem_size_document_pdf_firefox_narrate.mp4

Do you think this comes from our PDF file which was generated from LibreOffice with the standard options?

Dear Firefox Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with Firefox where it unexpectedly closes without any warning or generating a crash dialogue. This issue occurs when switching between any tabs, not exclusively ones with active media content such as YouTube, as previously suspected. This problem has persisted across multiple instances, without a discernible pattern or specific tab content causing the issue.

    • Firefox Version:** 124.0.2
    • Operating System:** Ubuntu 23.10, Linux 6.5.0-27-generic
    • Extensions/Themes:** [Provide a list of enabled extensions, or note if the issue persists in Safe Mode]
    • Recent Changes:** [Mention any recent system or Firefox updates]
    • Graphics Card:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, Driver Version 535.161.07
    • Steps to Reproduce:**

1. Open Firefox with multiple tabs. 2. Switch between various tabs. 3. Observe that Firefox occasionally closes unexpectedly without any crash report dialogue.

    • Attempted Solutions:**

- Checked `about:crashes` with no submitted crash reports found. - Monitored for errors using the Browser Console but found nothing consistently leading to the issue. - Attempted running Firefox in Safe Mode to rule out extension-related issues. - Disabled hardware acceleration to see if it impacts the occurrence, with no change.

    • Relevant Logs and IDs:**

- **Crash IDs:** N/A as no crash reports have been generated. - **Console Errors:** No specific errors noted that correlate directly with the issue. - **about:support Data(sanitised):**Name: Firefox Version: 124.0.2 Build ID: 20240401114208 Distribution ID: mozilla-deb Update Channel: release User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:124.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/124.0 OS: Linux 6.5.0-27-generic OS Theme: Generic Application Binary: /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin Profile Directory: [Generic Profile Directory] Build Configuration: about:buildconfig Memory Use: about:memory Performance: about:processes Registered Service Workers: about:serviceworkers Multiprocess Windows: 1/1 Fission Windows: 1/1 Enabled by default Remote Processes: 14 Enterprise Policies: Inactive Google Location Service Key: Found Google Safebrowsing Key: Found Mozilla Location Service Key: Found Safe Mode: false Memory Size (RAM): 15.4 GB Disk Space Available: 1,468 GB Profiles: about:profiles

Lately, when I try to download different files like .docx, .pptx, etc., Firefox always downloads files with a .pdf extension. I tried it in a different browser, and the problem does not occur there. Of course, the files are the same in binary terms, so when I change the extension, everything is fine, but it is annoying. What is wrong?

Hello, I'm using Firefox 100.0.2 (OS: Ubuntu 20.04). It is not possible to manage if/when firefox updates are installed. In the options-section, there are some information about the current version number, however no chance to configure anything update-related. Updates just happens automatically and interrupt current sessions, leading to spontaneous (and surprising) dysfunction of the opened browser. That's very annoying in case of video conferencing, for example, because it is not possible to open any new tab or windows, always the note there "you have to restart firefox now" - in practice, just like a crashing error. And, the suggested restart does not re-open the current opened tabs/URLs!

Furthermore, within some updates, my language settings get lost, so it turns to English language automatically and I always must add my language packet manually again and again. Thats really annoying and maybe completely disruptive for people that are not able to read in English!

Is there any chance to come over this? Otherwise I guess I must leave using firefox as browser, however this would be not the aim I actually follow. Thx!

Hi there,

I'm using my PC for local web development. I use Firefox as my regular browser and recently, in order to distinguish between personal time and development time, I've established a new profile just for development purposes.

The local website I can't reach is "site.local.dev". My OS is Ubuntu 20.04 and that URL points to a local IP on my network (resolved via /etc/hosts file on my PC).

Funny thing is that: - In dev-profile: site.local.dev does not work => "Unable to connect" and the URL bar shows https://site.local.dev even if I force it to http:// - In personal-profile: site.local.dev does work :P

I have tried with CLI tools like "wget", "hosts", "ping", "telnet" and so on and the site loads ok. Even I have used Dillo (damn simple web browser) and the site loads ok also.

Things I've tried so far: - Suggestions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can - Suggestions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1011327 (similar issue, not exactly the same).

It must be a silly thing but I'm out of options now. Perhaps anybody has faced to this situation in the past: any suggestion on this issue?.

Thanks in advance, Ibon.

When I restart my computer, I am logged out of all websites although I did not select settings such as "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed". This only happens with reboots and not on Suspend.

I saw two similar posts but the options look like they changed name since then: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1319622 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1289909

I tried to apply the solutions linked there, to no avail.

This behaviour only happens on my Garuda Linux and not on Pop-os. Thus I am not sure here is the right place to ask this question.

Another strange bug which may be related is the following: if I zoom in a page (say set it at 120 percents) then go to another tab and then come back to the page I zoomed in, the zoom is reset to 100 percents.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Recently I have noticed that when I want to display HTML source of the page Firefox asks me to log to the site once again. WHY? I am already logged in. The page is already loaded and displayed. So why it needs my password again?????

In some cases the page is actually loaded once again which can result in different content being displayed as "a page" and different as "a source" (if there is a dynamic insertion on the page changed on every get). But sometimes it shows old, cached source while the rendered page is already changed. I know that I can see actual content by using the Inspector but "show the source" function was more convenient. Now I can not believe that the "source" shown is a source of the actual "page" Such misfeatures make the function totally useless.

A lot of times while coding I press Ctrl+S to save Visual Studio Code and update live server (while watching on firefox the result). The problem is that when I'm focused on Firefox Ctrl+S pops up the Save Page window and (if I held Ctrl+S for more than a split second) it crashes (probably due to multiple popups becoming unresponsive). The mouse can't click to cancel the pop ups for saving the page nor interact it. I have to kill the firefox process and restart it. I've been looking into disabling Ctrl+S shortcut in Firefox with no success (extensions are deprecated or require too many permissions I'm not comfortable with).

Would someone help me to disable Ctrl+S or enlighten me on how to not have firefox crash every time I accidentally press Ctrl+S?

Thanks!

Hi,

I hope you are well.

I have set up 11 custom devices that max the min and max sizes of bootstrap grid system (xs-min-360w, xs-max-575, etc) to aid me with checking my website on various screen sizes. Is there anyway to export this list or better still to synch them with my Firefox account so I don't lose these settings?

I am using Firefox Developer Edition (101.0b6 (64-bit)) on Ubuntu 20.04.

Many thanks Kaz
