I have tried this several times over a few years, and have never got it to work I know it must be something I am doing wrong because if it was a glitch or bug, it would have been fixed by now. Usually I need to do this if I need to reinstall the OS, (Windows and Linux), or a new pc, the usual, but this time I had a major crash, so I'm starting over.

Anyway I have signed in on my pc to my FF account, and went through the menu to turn on sync, and I get to the page where is says, "when ready click next to display the QR code". I get my android out, open FF, sign in, click the "Scan" button, the FF scanner opens,, I open the QR code on the pc, (I have also went to the website to get a QR code). Then either way I scan the code, and get an errror msg "Must scan from inside FF". I am scanning from inside FF, with the FF QR scanner.

I don't uinderstand how of the 20 or more times I have tried to do this, I can't get it to work. I don't understand how I screw up every times, over a few years. But I also know as I said, if it was a bug MOzilla would have fixed it by now. Usually I give up on that and just log into both the pc and the phone, close both browsers and reopen them and it will go ahead and sync.

But not this time, I am unable to get it to sync for anything. I've been working on this for 3 days now, and at this point I'm confused, I don't remember what I have and have not done. Let me add, and I don't know if this will make a difference, I don't think so, but what do I know? Originally this all started, when I had to reset my password. I tried for 4 days there to get a recovery code to work. (The following is just to describe what I've done, and is not a second question) I had one downloaded, and saved on my pc. But no matter what route I took to go through the reset process, exactly as described in the help file, I never could get a place to enter the code. I read every article I could about it, and finally it seemed easier to just reset the password and resync than try to get the code to work.

Which is why I am sitting here, desperatly needing to sync my data, but unable to. If anyone can tell me what I need to do I will appreciate it. If you need any more information, just let me know.

1. Why does Firefox create bookmark folders with just a date for a name?

2. Why does Firefox automatically save random bookmarks in these folders?

3 How do I get it to stop doing both?

I need to find out if there is a way to transfer just certain bookmarks to another computer without having to transfer the entire bookmark file. I do not need the entire bookmarks file, just certain bookmarks within the file.

Can this be done? (Without using Sync, if at all possible, please.)

i installed www.5xYourFocus.com and this website wanted to add an extension to FireFox. I did and it came up in another language. I want to uninstalled but can not find it. PLEASE HELP.

Please tell me how to fix this problem: ever since I allowed Firefox to upgrade, I cannot load pages for banks/credit card accounts. I can do it on my Apple phone and IPad. So I believe it is a Firefox problem. I prefer using my desk top computer to pay bills. Please help me sort this out. I will change browsers if you can't help me. I'm not being snarky, just very upset that your upgrade did this to me. I am a 81 years young senior female, so please don't get to techy with the answer, keep it simple for this old brain. Every time I need to upload something to a website, when I click "browse" to browse my computer for the file, the window to browse my computer never pops up. I don't know why it randomly stopped working.

I wonder why the images from my domain https://cbproads.com does not load on Private windows. It loads fine on normal Firefox browser. I have disabled the Enhanced Protection in Private Window and found the images are loading fine.

I am not sure why the images from my domain is loading on other domain when it is embedded? There is no issue when images other than to my domain embedded in browsing domain. Then Why this issue is triggers only to a particular domain?

This issue is only in Private Window mode.

I have since a few weeks errorcodes showing up at my screen whenever i want to visit a website where videocontent is to see( like if you want to visit reddit and watch a video or something like that).I´ve didn´t do or didn´t visit anything special when it came up, it just came and now its there.I´ve also tried different things from the help articles that could solve the problem, didn´t do anything. It says in its message "secure connection failed". The problem is also on every browser, not only on firefox

Hi team, Can you explain me how exactly firefox sync works? asking because I thought by syncing it will save all the bookmarks with my account and I can use the same account to bring back all the bookmarks on another device.

I created an account on linux dual booted with windows and synced all the things I saved on firefox. Recently I switched to pop os and logged in using the same account. Expecting to see all the bookmarks on here too. But unfortunately it didn't worked. And all my bookmarks are gone. Is there any way I can recover those data?

I have a backup on my portable drive, where the F.Fox files cannot be deleted, not with WinRar either, they cannot be renamed. These are system files for F.Fox. The folder location is AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/ggsw864i.default-release/storage/default. In this folder I have had several files that belongs to the long file name category. They are compressed, cannot separate them by opening and cannot rename them for to assign a shorten name. There is no Properties to open. The files starting string: https+++ I have several data on this HD and it would be a huge task move the content then reformatting the drive. I did try the Windows Command Prompt rename method - it does not work either. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, so I am not very experienced and recently discovered how to customize Fire Fox using the userChrome.css file. I went through all of the steps that are required in order to do this. I set up a folder called chrome in the directory /Users/my name/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/x1oheo82.default-release To test if it works I wrote this into the userChrome.css file: @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */

and set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true After restarting Fire Fox I saw that nothing changed. I double checked if there was a hidden file extension or if I might be in the wrong directory. I tried different code to see if there was some error in the code but nothing changed. I watched countless tutorials on You Tube and tried to find answers on google but nothing that I did seemed to help. I don't know if it has something to do with the operating system I am running or if it is a limitation of my computer hardware (I am running Fire Fox on an m1 mac).

I'm unable to check out when I'm signed into my accounts at target & clinique.com.Target say my checkout page is slowing down firefox-click stop -I click stop&I cannot check out.

This has just started happening since I was forced to reinstall windows after a critical failure with my MBR for some reason.

I have all the settings where they should be to prevent websites from continually being logged out when I close Firefox....but each and every time I start up a browser window again...I am asked to sign in again no matter what. I am not so concerned about a majority of them, but I had it so that when my Firefox browser first opened, it went directly to the Google home page and already had me signed into my Google/Gmail account. But now...nope. I have to sign in every. Single. Time!

Right now, I have all my settings marked as I have seen in numerous other posts:

I have made sure that there ARE checks in the boxes for:

• Remember browsing and download history
• Remember search and form history
• Clear history when Firefox closes

And inside the History settings, only the cache is marked to clear every time Firefox closes.

I have made sure that there are NOT checks in the boxes for:

Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed Always use private browsing mode

And inside the History settings, there is no box checked for:

• Browsing & download history
• Active logins
• Form & search history
• cookies
• site settings
• Offline website data

None of the topic discussions about this or any combination of settings have worked for me thus far, and it getting to be quite maddening at this point. I need some help here so that when I open Firefox, I am not constantly logged out of

When I load Amazon.com, the webpage is a lot of text and random pictures. Amazon's layout is broken. I loaded the same page in Chrome and Safari without a problem. I reinstalled Firefox 99.0.1 without any improvement. Please fix.

I can no longer choose where downloads go. I have tried "always ask" but I am getting no where. One post said open the three bars on the right an look for option. NO luck.
