I am using Firefox version 112.02 with Windows 10 and am being told by some websites that my browser is out-of-date and that I cannot continue. Then today I was purchasing tickets for a show and the checkout was blocked by another message which said "Firefox Can’t Open This Page. To protect your security, **********.co.uk will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window."

Please advise how these measures can be removed or disabled as they are a perfect nuisance.

When I use Firefox to open google maps, it shows my location at least 30 kms from my actual location, which means all the local information is wrong and I have to scroll and reset. I am sure it didn't use to be like this. I have tried everything I can think of or find to tell Google maps that I am in Ellesmere Port not Bebington but to no avail. Given that these days I would think computer information could almost tell me what room of the house my PC was in I am baffled why it can't even get the right town. What's going on?

Still at a loss that since the FF 112 update, I have not been able to use mouse over (hover) and highlight a Biblical scripture in the program "Instaverse". So far, the problem has not been solved. I have used this browser and Instaverse in preparing sermons for years and it worked perfectly with the FF Browser and Microsoft Word (still works perfectly with Word). I use the desktop version of Windows 10 and discovered that in order to get Instaverse to work with FF, I have to use the 32 bit version. It did not work this time. My question is "Why?"

Hi there,

I'm trying to add multi-containers add on to a new Firefox install, it installs, but the icon doesnt show up. It's not hidden in the customise toolbar menu either. Have tried removing/re-adding, but it doesnt come up. It is possible to get to it by clicking the extensions icon, then clicking multi-container, but this isnt very user friendly. Is there a way to resolve this?

Thanks!

I have been using a financial site (Credit Union) for years. A few days ago I started seeing what appears to be code in the menu bars instead of text or icons. The site claims it is fine and the issue is either Windows or a browser problem. Windows 11 is up to date and Firefox claims to be also. If I use Edge (NOT my default browser) the site works fine. Attached are screenshots from each browser and a shot of the browser console after logging into the site. Whazzup?

Just a little while ago, I wrote about how Firefox updated and now my Gmail "stars' are gone, I cannot access my work Webmail, and PBS Passport is a problem.

I forgot to mention that I play NYT Spelling Bee, and until this update, I could click on "Today's Hints" and see that page. Now a picture winks in for a second or less, and then the screen is blank.

Something is definitely haywire with Firefox if so many disparate sites are a problem, right?

No matter which option I select for opening a PDF (Open with Firefox, Open with Adobe Acrobat, or Save File) the PDF automatically saves itself to my Downloads folder. I do not want this. I don't want to constantly have to go in there and delete all these PDFs that I only needed to view once. Is this a feature or a bug? If it's a bug, please help me fix it guys. If it's a feature, that was a terrible decision from the Firefox dev team. I can't be the only one annoyed at this??

I'm at my wits' end. There are a few websites that just don't open for some reason. Either they don't load at all and I get a blank page or there's a problem with the way they load. I've done some troubleshooting. Figured it might be an add-on, safe mode didn't fix it. Tried a 'refresh'. Didn't fix it. Figured it might be corrupt cache after the first visit, but deleting cache didn't fix it.

Finally tried reinstalling Firefox and it did... but not for long. After the reinstall, the websites were accessible again no problem. But then the next time I closed Firefox and restarted it or shut down my computer, the problem was back. This is 100% consistent. No exceptions. Always reproduces the issue.

To give examples of websites that for some reason stop working: A couple of websites for a game I play (trackmania.exchange and trackmania.io) My work Outlook inbox and more generally the whole Office 365 suite online. The Twitter feed. For some reason the UI loads but the feed just says "Something went wrong. Try reloading". I'm sure there are others I haven't found yet, but for some reason I have no problem accessing YouTube, Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

I have no clue how to troubleshoot this any further. Something goes wrong after closing Firefox after reinstalling it. I can't keep reinstalling it every time I turn my computer on. I also don't want to have to use hibernate constantly to keep the first instance open.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Tried this on a live site with a large image of name like something-welding-something.png

<IfModule mod_headers.c>

   <FilesMatch "welding">
       Header set Cache-Control "max-age=30, public"
   </FilesMatch>

</IfModule>

How do I prove it works? What am I doing wrong?

In Firefox enter yourdomainurl into the url box. Display webpage.

Open Firefox dev window go to network tab and filter by welding

On webpage hit <Ctrl-F5> network traffic shows image fetched from server.

Open another browser tab and look at about:cache?storage=disk Find the image and the expiry time is 30s past last modified time.

On webpage hit <Ctrl-R> network traffic shows cached. On webpage hit <Ctrl-R> nothing appears in network traffic!! On webpage hit <Ctrl-R> nothing appears in network traffic!! Wait, hit <Ctrl-R> again still But on the about:cache page the Last Modified time is now after the Expires time!

Enter some other domain (e.g. bbc.co.uk) into the url box instead of yourdomainurl.

Wait 30 seconds and then re-enter yourdomainurl (do not use back button). Network traffic for image shows cached. The expiry time now shows No expiration time.
