Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I'm so frustrated! I don't have time for this... I try to use my pw, it gets rejected. I hit "Forgot pw". I get confirmation code. I use confirmation code. I use computer-generated pw and Moz saves it. I try to log in again and pw gets rejected.

It has re-occurred to my Firefox Browser of the latest version of 115.30 with some websites which I have recently visited however which have appeared 8 grids of blank or white pages again under "Recent Activity" as attached with the image for your technical troubleshooting suggestion.

Those 8 grids of Recent Activity in the older version of Firefox browsers used to have shown colorful graphics or images representative of the recent websites I visited in the recent past.

May I know what I am supposed to do to recover those graphics or images?

Kindly offer any suggestion or solution?

My desktop icon has disappeared. It is still on the taskbar and in Start Menu (Windows10), also listed in programs on control panel. Tabs Dan be saved individually. But tabs can be gathered and saved to a tab group. Can we save the tab group like individual tab in bookmark or else, so that the tab group can be easily restored when the Firefox is closed.

After a Windows 11 update, Firefox does not automatically start although set to do it and when I start it, a small rectangular box appears in the upper left corner of the screen.

Since updating to last version, when trying to access my two banking accounts, on different banks, the send button, when entering my user and password, doesn't do anyting. All other buttons and links respond.

How can I get all Firefox settings as a simple table? I am sure that is how they are kept by the program, somewhere outside the Firefox UI. Are they kept in the System Registry? It would sure make troubleshooting & continuity easier when moving to new devices/CPUs.

When using vertical tabs and having bookmarks toolbar only visible on a new tab, there is this behavior where if you are on a website (bookmarks toolbar not visible) and then open a new tab, the vertical tabs move because they need to make space for the bookmarks toolbar. Would it be possible to make it like it is, for example, in Microsoft Edge, where when you open a new tab, your vertical tabs do not need to move because the bookmarks toolbar is as if off to the side a little bit, so the vertical tabs do not need to provide extra space for it? My hope would be for the bookmarks toolbar to be next to the vertical tabs, not above them.

Bank Login (a single bank) - This has worked fine for years but now there is a problem. I use FireFox password manager and it contains the user name and password and they are correct. When logging in the user name and password are shown and they are correct but the website says user name or password is incorrect. When I type in the user name it works. Why?

I just bought new PC and switched to win11(never happened on win10). Videos stutter when on 2nd monitor and game is open on first, but audio doesn't. Problem goes away immediately when clicking to the firefox window. Happens on both youtube and twitch, but not on Nebula.tv and not on chrome. Doesn't happen if the video is 480p, but does on 720 and 1080 and both of them are 60fps which might be something. Also doesn't happen if the game is windowed, but does on fullscreen and borderless.

I've disabled hardware acceleration (in windows and browser). I've tried setting both monitors to 60hz, setting firefox priority to high (and game to low), disabling effiency mode, setting power mode to performance and tried a lot of other things including about:config settings. Also ruled out extensions.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X GPU: RTX5070 1st monitor: 180hz 2nd: 80hz

I keep getting this message when I try to sign in on Firefox. Chrome let's me sign on but i much prefer Firefox. Any suggestion? {

iOS 26.1 on an iPhone SE; Google Maps 25.47.0. Links to apps don't open in-app. If I click a Google Maps link, it sends me to the App Store. If I click a link to Instagram, it sends me to the App Store. But I already have those apps! How do I make it work like it used to?
