Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

I use Firefox on all of my computers and they all have a plus sign next to an open tab to open a new tab, but on this computer I have to right click on the 5tab bar to open a new tab - how can I get the plus sign to show for easy tab opening?

I recently got a large (30") 4k monitor because I have been having trouble reading text. But Firefox has become practically unusable.

Some sites display with giant text, and I have to press ctrl-minus several times to fit them on the screen.

Meanwhile, the text in the Bookmarks bar, tabs, and URL window are unreadably small.

I tried about:config and layout.css.devPixelsPerPx, which currently seems to have a NEGATIVE value of -1.5. Per directions, I changed it to 1.5. NOTHING. NO CHANGE.

Then I found an endless series of possible fixes, all involving similarly opaque and obscure and user-unfriendly steps.

I might have to abandon Firefox, after all these years, over this. Anybody got a simple fix?

(I now see that I'm actually having the same problem in Windows Explorer, so maybe that's where I need to go to fix this.)

I’m writing to report an ongoing issue I’ve been experiencing with Firefox over the past few months.

Within the last four months, Firefox has logged me out of every account I was signed into on three separate occasions. Each time this happens, all saved sessions are cleared and I have to sign back into every service again manually.

I haven’t intentionally cleared cookies, site data, or browsing history, and I’m not using private browsing when this occurs. This behavior is disruptive and I’m concerned there may be a settings issue, bug, or conflict causing Firefox to remove my sign-in data unexpectedly.

Could you please advise what might be causing this and what steps I can take to prevent it from happening again? I’m happy to provide additional details such as my operating system, Firefox version, or troubleshooting steps already attempted if needed.

I remember in the past being able to disable videos from playing on a page and having a play button I could click to play them manually, am I hallucinating or is this a feature I cannot seem to find ?

Exactly what it says on the tin. help?? it still has autofill for my emails and stuff, i didnt do anything weird my computer just went dead while firefox was running. please send help i left all my stuff on google and i dont wanna have to work to get them back.

IT OFFERS CHOICES THEN WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PAY WHAT I WANT TO PAY, THE FORM GOES BLANK AGAIN.

I downloaded something today that installed "Cubbie" and Yahoo. I have no interest in either,especially since Cubbie pops up as my search engine. How do I get rid of it? Thanks! BB

Trying to get to saved themes in Firefox Color doesn't work on some machines depending on the screen size / display. The tab next to "Custom Backgrounds" is overlaid by the huge display of the application menu. One one of my computers you can see it just below the enlarged icon, but on my laptop you can't get to it at all.

I can see it on my desktop PC - barely. On my laptop the icon overlays it completely and I can't get to saved themes. I have tried playing with zoom, but that didn't help. The default / recommended scale in Windows for two different laptops I have is 150% with resolution 1290 x 1200. If you change that to 100%, THEN you can see the saved themes, but I doubt most people would figure that out. Even at 125% I can't see it. I am attaching an example from my laptop where I changed the SCALE set to 125% (again, 150% is recommended by Windows).

Firefox continues to freeze up even after many FF updates. I am running Ubuntu 22.04LTS. Firefox freezes for no apparent reason. I am lucky if I can just close the browser. But often times I must do a hard shutdown of my laptop. Since the problem first appeared about six (?) months ago there have been a number of Firefox updates, but this problem continues. When will it be fixed finally?

Firefox installed a new version and my stuff has disappeared. I don't recognize the window at all. I have tried the "restore sessions" but I'm told it can't happen. I need my stuff back.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mozilla Foxfire browser because of challenges with most recent update (i.e. missing horizontal tabs, difficulty finding bookmarks, et al). I use a 2020-21 MacBook Pro. I ALSO use four different browsers for different types of things. Recently, ONLY IN FF have I been getting this little annoyance in the upper left-hand corner of the window when I open a new window. In don't get it anywhere else and cannot understand what a 'Cntrl-Click (Mac)' (right-click on that other platform) tells me about it. I WAS able to eliminate a SIMILAR nuisance about some sort of groups. The icon was a little box split into four sections. With both, the screen gets a white haze over it until clicking on the little box. . I have included a screen shot of the box in question. . Thanks in advance... .

I usually have multiple tabs open and my MacBook slows down and gets hot. Firefox is using A LOT of memory. Is there a way to have inactive tabs go dormant, helping reduce overall memory usage and improve browser performance? An advisor mentioned this is an option in Chrome. Is there a fix?

Since the latest update on 16/01, my search bar history has just not functioned at all.

Remember history is still ticked, however there is no autofill, and no sites are populating in shortcuts unless i add them manually. Basically history is not saving as it should.

I've checked all my settings but there doesn't seem to be anything amiss.

I have disabled and removed any and all VPN's from my main unit. I have reloaded Firefox and cleaned the registry. Still getting the message and am unable to display images. Any ideas?

Bogged down, slow: Win11 task manager(TM) shows more FF browsers than reality. Have 11 FF browsers in use but TM says 55 climbing to 77.... numbers vary up & down! but never accurate to what is in use. Attempted fixes: cleared cookies, ' Refresh', uninstall/reinstall. Troubleshooting Information: Application Basics said "Profile folder" click "Open Profile' for FF ...but no FF in that list. Tried 'clear Startup cache' and it jumped to 82 after... so worse. How do I get a true number of browsers open and not these 'extras'. Thanks in advance..
