A few days ago (while playing on my bamboo tablet) I noticed that my firefox refused to work and continued to crash despite my (limited) efforts (Ran anti-virus and CCleaner thinking it was a virus problem.). Using a friends computer I found that my tablet might be the problem and an update might fix the issue. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and now it's notifing me "File corrupt." I don't understand what this means or how to fix this.

Any asstance would be very apperciated. Sorry for my terrible spelling (my firefox had spell check, stupid internet explorer doesn't. I've lost all my bookmarks and lovely firefox applications and desperately want that back!)

[Apologies, I clicked the wrong URL and shut the previous thread by mistake.]

I have FF 3.6.6 randomly crashing when I am not even doing anything. I have two websites open normally, neither of them uses Flash or any adobe plug-ins. One auto-refreshes content every few minutes, but it is text and basic JPG/GIF graphics (run by JavaScript I presume). The other site does nothing if I take no actions. But several times a day, FF just shuts down silently.

I am running on linux Mint 9 KDE Edition.

about:crashes says the URL is invalid. ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/ doesn't exist; ~/.mozilla/firefox/ contains a single file called .profiles.ini - nor could I find a folder by that name in any of the directories related to FireFox.

When downloading huge files like a 4GB DVD image of linux, firefox starts to build up memory usage. After downloading 3GB it takes around 4GB of memory and then crashes since it can't possibly grow any larger. WHY is it doing this? In earlier versions of firefox it created a .part file and stored all data in there. But right now it stores the WHOLE download in memory and then saves it directly to the file. No .part files on the drive.

Firefox now crashes each time I try to load a new tab and a site in that tab. This has only happened since the last auto update. The errors are: script busy: Programfiles/Mozillafirefox/components/nsExtensionmanager.js:623 or [JavaScript Error: "dir is null" {file: "file:///C:/Users/Owner/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/v8lye5o2.default/extensions/%7B0538E3E3-7E9B-4d49-8831-A227C80A7AD3%7D/components/nsForecastfox.js" line: 323}]' when calling method: [ffIDiskService::get].

The only solution is uninstall firefox and reinstall. I have to do this every day as it only works until firefox hangs or closes.I'm running Vista. Never had this problem until I updated to 3.6.8 and then I kept getting java errors, so I downloaded the newest java. Now if firefox starts at all, the add ons don't work. If I uninstall and reinstall, they work temporarily until I have to close firefox.
